Offensive Lines - Who has the horses?

Featured Replies

I found this from a year ago:

Can any team in the state top this!

Paris' Offensive line...

Billy Bowman..................6-0......205.....Sr.

Chase Dumphord.............6-6......306.....Jr.

Erik Nason.....................5-10.....245.....Jr.

Nick Wilson...................5-10......339.....Jr.

Tyquan Rice..................6-1.......314.....Sr.

Trey Rankin...................6-0.......200.....Jr.

Top Sub

Janon Brown..................5-8.......245.....Fr.

That's an averaged of 6-0 264.8 pounds of beef. Not bad for a class A school. Not bad at all.

It looks like they lost 2 seniors: 205 & 314. That still leaves some pretty big boys! :D

Is this still accurate?

Cov cath should have a good oline this year

RT - Dan Heath 6'4" 250 Sr

RG - Nick Hudepohl 6'2" 260 Sr

C - Andy Shulte(spelling ?) 6' Jr

LG - Nate Kater 5'11" 260 Sr

LT - Zac Franxman 5'10" 220 Sr

top sub- Nick Ellison 5'11" 230 So

Senior domanate should give good protection to Josh Bleser and make some holes for the running backs

Hard to tell if the height and weight are true on any team. Not a bash but I think most teams if not all look at litte bit better on paper than in real person.

We will see in person who the horses really are:cool:

I think it is neat to see the progression (evolution) of the size of players. Even in Kentucky, there will be groups of lineman at the prep level (referring to all five lineman) that will all be larger than major D-1 programs from the 1980s. For schools that can support the amount of people, it is only a matter of time before your average high school lineman will be approaching the 300 lb mark. That is amazing to think about!

I hope not. Its not healthy for kids in high school to weigh that much (or in college or the pros for that matter). Puts a large strain on the heart and other organs.

The Covington Holmes Bulldogs have a pretty strong and experienced o line with Mike Sharp and Tommy Britton returing as seniors.

Lone Oak should be strong upfront the next couple of years:

LT-Chase Fox 6'6" 260lb.- Jr. (vastly improved, hasn't reached his potential yet)

LG-Jeff Prescott 6'1" 270lb.- Soph. (impressive youngster)

C-Kyler Branaum 6' 210lb.-Jr. (runs 4.90/40-very physical)

RG-Jon Myre 5'10" 260lb.-Jr. (benches 325 & started as soph.-quick off the ball)

RT-John Carr 6'2" 270lb.-Jr. (benches 300 & started as soph.-good pass blocker)

TE-John Pierce 6'3" 200lb.-Jr. (excellent blocker & a go-to player, started as soph.)

Should give QB Corey Robinson plenty of time to find one of his talented receivers.

You could list a line full of 300 pound kids and it could still stink. Size alone is a poor indicator of performance. I would take a kid 50 - 70 lbs. lighter who had good technique, understood how to utilize leverage, and had good feet.

RUSSELL DEVILS

LT- 6'6" 315 sophomore

LG- 6'0" 225

C- 6'4" 260

RG- 6'0" 220

RT- 6'4" 330

Yea they can play and suprising enough, Russell has a big line this year. Last year on the STATE team Drew Mell was our biggest lineman at 6'0"- 240.

Now Devilologists, let's not stretch it too much...Are those "program" heights & weights?? The weights may be accurate on the tackles but our guards and center are smaller than you listed...Plus, Seth may be 6'5" but I think he's closer to 6"4", not 6'6"...As a whole we're definitely bigger this year but not that big...

I dont know if you would call the boys at Franklin County horses, but they are good at what they do, In the two scrimmages at woodford and Dunbar they picked up 3 and 4 blitzers as well as the lineman all game long.

That is accurate- Aug 16th Local Newspaper states the following - and I am quoting their hometown newspaper...

"The Hounds will be very strong on their Offensive and D Line... Which will be anchored by Chase Dumphord, Nick Wilson, Janon Jones, Josh Estes-Waugh and Travis Angel (who will lineup at Tightend)".

Their roster Posted today states: (very accurate for all)

(OL)

Chase Dumphord 6'7 310 (sr)

Nick Wilson 6'1 360 (sr)

Janon Jones 5'8 215 (soph)

Josh Estes-Waugh 6' 205 (sr)

Travis Angel 6' 220 (jr)

I'd like to hear from fellow BGPers before I throw in my 2 cents.

The Harrison County Thoroughbreds?

I agree 100% :thumb:
