After church we went to Sunny's in Richmond. I had the smoked turkey, fries and fried okra. Turkey was very dry. Hubby and friends got the pulled pork, it looked good, but I can make that at home myself. When I go out to eat I like to order things I don't fix much.

 

Love Sonny's. First one we ever went to was in St. Augustine; after that we were hooked.

Prepping for a three week stay in Counce, Tennessee (Pickwick Lake) where I will have breakfast on 21 occasions at the R&B Bar-B-Que.

 

Standard fare includes biscuits and gravy along with grits with everything. Tenderloin, Pork Chops and steak with your eggs, and omelets that hang off the side of your plate. Waitresses right out of Mel's Diner.

Always interesting seeing the guys coming off of third shift at the pulp mill drinking beer at 6am in the morning.

Hmmm, trying to remember the last 3 nights. 1st night. Not sure. Last night was the heavy or-devours night. Tonight was Jackson. Filet and th fixens. Pretty good.

Got take out from City BBQ, it's next door to my new job.

The pulled pork sandwich and Mac and cheese and banana pudding were good but the baked beans were really good, with chunks of brisket. The portion sizes especially for the sides were plenty big, some BBQ places around Louisville give you tiny little sides, I got the sandwich plate with 2 sides and added a piece or cornbread and banana pudding and it was too much food, took a lot home for later.

Just got back from Blue Licks S.R.P. lunch buffet.

Had Dominos stromboli last night.

Ate at Kaya last night in El Segundo, Ca. Sushi joint. 4 of us so we just ordered a bunch of different stuff. Love the sharing of plates.

Family is having Chinese. We have a really good one here in town. They have the best egg rolls I have eaten anywhere. I had to have a tooth pulled so it is ege drop soup and jello for me.

Wife and I just at at a Frisch's for lunch. Haven't been there in a few months but the first thing I noticed was the menu had been changed. Not as much selection. Second thing was that the Frisch's chili tasted nothing like it had in the past. Third, even the Big Boy I had tasted different. Has anyone else noticed some differences since the Frisch family sold the chain?

Going to Brew River Gastropub tonight. What's the scoop on the place?

First Pitch Friday Buffet at USF Baseball vs Memphis and USF Softball vs UConn. (The buffet was on the Donaldson Deck between the two stadiums, from which you can view both games.)

 

All you can eat chicken pita wrap bar & tossed salad. Cookies for dessert. Also, all the tea, lemonade, water, flavored sparkling waters, beer, and wine you could down before the end of the 7th inning.

12oz Filet, 1905 salad, Spanish yellow rice, steamed green beans, and the best Pan Cubano on the planet.

 

Tinto Sangria to sip on.

 

Dessert was Chocolate Brazo Gitano, house-made white cake, rolled with a rich chocolate filling and topped with chocolate mousse. A huge wedge, too.

 

We were at the Columbia. Forget the no carbs stuff.

 

It might be the last one at the Columbia. The banquet was held in their largest room and the place was overflowing.
