January 18, 201610 yr $25/game is low enough for me, and considering what I predict attendance to be for the next few years, I won't be confined to any particular seat. I guess that would be a good argument for buying cheaper seats, but I don't mind overpaying a little to not be harassed by the yellow jackets. Why buy season tickets this year? Tickets will be INCREDIBLY easy to come by all year. People will be basically giving them away - especially after the REDS are about 20 games out at the all-star break...

January 18, 201610 yr Pirates also. And Royals, A's, And Rays. Small market teams can and do field competitive teams.

I just think already having the tickets would encourage me to go more often, which is something I would like to do. I also am not great at haggling with scalpers, and don't really know many of the people you claim will be giving them away, not that I disagree with you on that point.

There are lots of websites (not sure if I am allowed to list them or not) that will have plenty of seats for cheap, all year long. After Opening Day, and maybe a few select games (giveaways), there should be no problem getting tickets for under face value. I did this a couple of times last year and got some really good seats for less than $10. This way, you can pick and choose what games you want to watch.
January 19, 201610 yr Count me in the group who is not excited to watch the team play this year. I am not exactly sure how people can be excited about having to rebuild. I can get it if we knew for sure that this rebuild would definitely lead to us being good in a few years. However for all the rebuilds that have turned out well for teams, there are just as many if not more rebuilds that don't turn out well and then takes another 3 to 4 years if not more. I get why the Reds have to do this, especially with no Salary Cap a team like the Reds have to do this. However I just don't get how people could be excited about it. It sucks that this has to happen, just to hope that this will lead to a good team in a few years, when in reality it may not work out as well as we hope.
January 19, 201610 yr I keep having flash backs to the Kurt Stillwell/Paul Householder days. Scares me a lot.
January 20, 201610 yr Look at the bright side. We now have more chances for new bobbleheads. and getting a foul ball to take home...
January 22, 201610 yr I'll be able to hold a conversation with somebody on the other side of the ballpark...without a cellphone.
