January 14, 201610 yr Jerry Crasnick reported that the Reds are still listening to offers for Jay Bruce. GM Dick Williams says the off-season is not finished.
January 14, 201610 yr I'll give you $4.00 plus that WWE ring that is up for sale for him. Great guy and great guy to root for but not impressed with his numbers.
January 14, 201610 yr Anyone else scared that next years team will look like the Astros from 5 years ago? We can only hope the end result is as good. Who is not on the market? Votto and Bailey due to contracts. Phillips won't accept a trade. Cozart next? Surely no one wants Hamilton. Mesoraco? You'd have to think that the Reds are praying that Cozart, Meso and Bailey recover from injuries and start the season strong so they can unload them at the break.

The only reason Homer isn't is due to injury, not his contract. If he can return healthy this season, he'll be moved as soon as possible IMO. I still think they find a way to move BP and Bruce before the season starts.
January 14, 201610 yr Anyone else scared that next years team will look like the Astros from 5 years ago? We can only hope the end result is as good. Yes. I want to hear the plan. When can the fans expect a championship competitive team? 2 years? 3 years? 4 years? What is the target?
January 14, 201610 yr Yes. I want to hear the plan. When can the fans expect a championship competitive team? 2 years? 3 years? 4 years? What is the target? I believe I've seen them mention 2018 in articles a few times.
January 14, 201610 yr Why would you be scared? I'm more excited about watching this coming season's team play than I was the past two seasons. I'm going to thoroughly enjoy watching the youngsters.

If that means in 5 years the Reds are really good again then yes I'm very scared. I hope this is the case honestly.
January 14, 201610 yr I believe I've seen them mention 2018 in articles a few times. I think that is a bit optimistic unless they plan to be players in the free agent market the season after next.
January 15, 201610 yr Why would you be scared? I'm more excited about watching this coming season's team play than I was the past two seasons. I'm going to thoroughly enjoy watching the youngsters. It could be interesting I admit it. Or it could be the ugliest Reds baseball team in 30 years and disgusting to watch.
January 15, 201610 yr Why would you be scared? I'm more excited about watching this coming season's team play than I was the past two seasons. I'm going to thoroughly enjoy watching the youngsters. I hope they start out decently and command a little attention. The second half of last year was the most apathetic I have ever been with the Reds. I absolutely lost interest. I would actually wake up the next day often and not know whether the Reds won or lost...just simply did not care. I never used to be like that. I am somewhat interested in what the new guys can do but if they start out 10-22, I may lose interest quickly. When the Reds lose people like me (who really loves baseball and played it through college), that is a problem.

It has been a real long time since I cared less about Reds baseball than I did in the second half last year. Right now, on paper, this coming year's team looks worse. Please give me something to be hopeful for UKMF.

January 15, 201610 yr I'm planning on going to see them early with LRCW. I want to go before I lose all interest.
