NFL could take advantage of keeping him out of one of the games to make it less of a chance for altercation. I think the NFL wants Burfict in the Steelers games... They want the ratings and that will bring more interest from the public IMO.
January 12, 201610 yr I'd say 2 are violations for sure, the one on the Ravens guy is in the "interpretation" realm and the sack that hurt Ben's shoulder was not a violation... But that's just me... About half of the NFL officials will agree with me and half will disagree. The one against the Ravens is the cheapest shot of all. And the sack of Roethlisberger on Saturday want the issue. It was him driving his knee into his shoulder after the tackle while he was getting up. I don't think it did any further damage but it was dirty just the same. I was hoping for 4 games.

The shot against the Ravens is "interpretation". It was within 5 yards and he didn't use the helmet , he used his arms very forcefully. They showed this exact play several times on tv and many former players said "keep your head on a swivel" it's a legal play. You see much worse more often on punts and kick offs. Believe me, Burfict is on the officials' watch list... The guy that saw it "interpreted" this to be within the rules or it would've been flagged.

People have tried for years to just wrap Ben up and he just shakes them off like fleas... You have to drive him to the ground or he's not going down. That was a clean tackle... The others, I think 2 are for sure penalties and the other depends on the official.

Rule states that if in a defenseless posture it's a personal foul if a player lands with his full weight on the quarterback. I'm not saying it should have been called, but for all you guys nitpicking about interpretation, well, there's another for the pot.

January 12, 201610 yr I think the 5 yards only applies UNTIL they turn to be a receiver. He was fined $50k for this hit. 4th fine of the season. I know that Clyde, but Spindoc thinks he lead with the helmet... It's clearly forearms and not the helmet... Also wasn't flagged which gets back to the whole "interpretation" nonsense... By the way, I'm basing it on the replays of this on my big screen tv today... And even those that thought it was dirty didn't think it was a helmet to helmet.
