LSU's Ben Simmons, who does he best compare to?

Terrence Jones and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist aren't exactly jobbers

Love them both. Both were very good at UK. Both were better as part of the equation with Davis than they were/have been without him.

Well yeah that's true but Davis is a once every 5-10 years type of player. But he wasn't exactly out there with a bunch of mid-major players. Jones and MKG are both very productive in the NBA. And Lamb, Teague and Miller are all pros, just not necessarily NBA pros.

Never said they weren't.

You said Davis didn't have all-time great teammates. I mean Jones and MKG are pretty good is all I was meaning.

Neither lit up the scoreboard is what I'm saying. Perhaps should have said it better.

Magic Johnson and Larry Bird in College could do all of the above. Bird an even better scorer.

I don't recall Griffin being that blessed as an assist machine.

Historically one could also add Oscar Robertson for this kind of blend.

I want to say a mixture between Blake Griffin and Kevin Durant...I'm not sure though, I'll have to make my decision towards the end of the season.

Lebron is probably the best comparison to him. Plays exactly the same way.

I think Simmons could surprise people with his shooting. I don't think he really has been asked to shoot that much nor has he himself really cared about shooting jump shots when he could just drive to the hoop at will.

What happened to him in the NC State game? 4 points against a Mark Gottfried coached team???

He can't shoot the basketball.

Hope he can somehow manage to overcome that glaring deficiency.

When people start calling the greatest this or that I think it should be pointed out. That's a pretty big hole in your game. Other people have changed and or developed a shot. Some have not.

I think there is a difference between can't shoot and doesn't have to rely on a jump shot. I've watched a lot of LSU this year and believe he is the latter. Time will tell.

I can't decide who he reminds me of the most yet, I'll have to see him play more and against stiffer competition. While I do believe he is no doubt the best player in college this year, I do think his stats may be a bit inflated at this point in the season.

As others have mentioned, he's not a great shooter and does not seem to have a right hand. However, both of those things can be corrected over time.
