January 5, 201610 yr This kid appears to be the best college player that I've seen in years...maybe ever. Am I missing something, or is he really the best we've seen in college in quite a while. For those that live and breath basketball, who does he compare to? Who was the last college player that was a better player than he is?
January 5, 201610 yr Had this conversation with a writer recently. I think he is comparable to a mix of Grant Hill and Blake Griffin. Some see Lamar Odom. Last college player this good? Durant or Carmelo.

I love AD, but I don't think AD could put the ball on the floor and take people off of the dribble the way Simmons does. AD was a better Shot Blocker but BS is as good or better passer and as good of a rebounder.

January 5, 201610 yr I'm not convinced Davis is the better college player than Simmons. Tough to compare because of the team Davis was on vs. the team Simmons is on. I just haven't ever seen a player impact the college game like Davis. Granted, I'm not very old, but whenever AD was on the floor, he could score 20 or 2 and UK had a shot to win.

I'd draft Davis first as well and I think Davis is going to have a better pro career. However, Simmons is a better overall college player than what we saw from Davis, in my opinion.

He didn't have all-time great teammates (By UK standards). Very, very, good, but not as good as what Wall had or Towns had. Still won the whole thing. Question is, with Anthony Davis instead of Simmons would LSU still be in position to miss out on even the NIT? I don't believe so.
