Highlands in 3A in 2007???

Featured Replies

Get off it Rockpride......Highlands is noted for being a football powerhouse throughout the state, its true. They have played tough schedules as far back as I can remember. However this class thing pans out, they have no control over it. So if they end up in 3A so be it. They still will play the 4A and 5A schools...not to mention a 6A here and there. Oh and schools from the GCL in Cincinnati.

What school do you support and how many state titles have they won? just curious.

^ hence the watered down title. They may get them, but it would show cowardess in my opinion.

Not as bad as you might think. Most Birds fans don't take the comment as being worthy of replying to. And we all know RP's true motivation: he just will be besides himself when Highlands starts winning all those state championships and gets way ahead of Trinity in the most championships category:banana:

Yeah, I can totally tell it doesn't get underneath y'all's skin

BTW..My personal opinion is (which I am sure EVERYONE wants to hear) :D that you play in the "Class" according to your enrollment. I have no doubt that Highlands can also play with higher classes too!!

Im not a Highlands fan but all i got to say is...16...

Highlands doesn't have the most football state championships in the state for no reason. They will win NO MATTER WHAT class they play in. I know for a fact Dale would love to play up and will play wherever the best competition is and still win no less than 7-8 games a year...but this is something he has no control over so let it go.

What has to be somewhat worrisome to the Birds if they want to move up to 4A is that fact that Pendleton County is in 4A already and their asst principal is the President of the Board of Control and as such has considerable sway on the outcome of votes. Since the ability to move up is based upon the BOC agreeing to the request, if I was a Birds fan I'd worry about that. From what I understand, there is no love lost between the President and Highlands/Dale.

What is also bothersome is the fact that had they divided the 221 teams as evenly as possible, with 37 in the top 5 classes and 36 in 1A, Highlands would have been in 4A to begin with and there would be no need to "request" a move up to 4A. I'm not accusing anyone of anything; don't do that without proof. But I do wish they had split the teams as I suggested as opposed to putting 36 in each of the top 5 and 41 in 1A. Heck, Mason would have also moved up. That would have been a nice 4A district: CovCath, Highlands, Mason and Pendleton. I know they can't do everything just to benefit N. Ky however. Hopefully the right thing will be done with the move up requests and Highlands will be able to move up. I'd like to see Mason do the same.(Although my preferred option would be to move up Highlands and CovCath into 5A and join Dixie, Grant, Scott and Holmes. Those 6 would be a good district and would move us back to the east region so the semi finals would not be such a trek. As it is in 3A, we'll be travelling to Paducah a lot I think since we are in the west region in 3A.

16 time State Champion

TRINITY

I truly though that everyone could list my entire group of allegiance by now

However this class thing pans out, they have no control over it.

But they do....that was my point.

Playing up is not as simple as just asking. The KHSAA has to OK it...

How did you know who I rooted for, I thought I kept myself fairly neutral.

Which, with the 16 time state champ, they most certainly would.
