Hoping to start Baldacci's "Last Mile" today.

I've got it, starting in a day or two.

 

I thought it was better than the first one.

That's good to know. I really like the first one.

A question about the Jack Reacher books for those of you that have read them.

 

I have read the first two books Killing Floor (1997) and Die Trying (1998). After I finish the book I have now, I'm going to another Reacher. Was going to start Tripwire (1999) next and then I found out that in chronological order The Enemy (2004 the 8th book) takes place while Reacher is still in the Military and then The Affair (2011 the 16th book) covers the end of Reacher's Military career.

 

Should I read them before I Tripwire or read them in publication order?

For many series, it's almost imperative that they be read in publication order. I haven't found that to be the case so much in the Reacher series. But that's just me.

For the most part, I read them in order. But I can see reading the Military books before the others. I think his latest one coming out in November is a 1996 Military era book. I love the books when he actually was an MP. Brings me back to the times when we had to show our American ID to get on base to attend Mass.

I see her books (and writing as J.D. Robb) all the time. Tell me what you think once you've read it.

This book was a little different than other Nora Roberts books I've read which focused more on the story and less on the romance. It was suspenseful but not a mystery. I always like the way Nora develops the characters & she didn't disappoint me with this one. It had a good balance of humor and family dynamics. As always, it did what it was supposed to do--entertain me. A complete package, drama, humor, romance and suspense which was an easy read.

As a side note, I like her writing as J.D. Robb.

I've always been a Kennedy assassination conspiracy theorist.

Someone on here suggested I read "Case Closed" by Gerald Posner, which purports that Oswald was the lone gunman. So I'm giving that one a try.

Followed by another Kennedy book - "Not in Your Lifetime" by Anthony Summers.

Started this one a couple years ago and just couldn't get into it. Picked it back up off the shelf and am enjoying it much more this time around.

 

Yep. Unless someone tells me it's dramatically different than the movie, I probably will just put it on the shelf right now. (I'm definitely in the category of reading the book before seeing the movie.) Just bummed I don't have a JR book to read right now.

 

It is much better than the movie.

Just finished this. Wow! Great book! Best book I have read in a long time. I enjoyed it more than Harlan Coben's latest book.

Hard to believe, but I've had the other books in this series (yard sale) for a LONG time. But not this one, until the other day.
