After reading these post I decided to attend yesterdays game. I was impressed with Creech. Has a good shot, makes good decisions and yesterday had a good % on the shots. She never quits while the clock is ticking such as going after the rebound of her own shot. Seemed to me all most all her points come off of driving the lane for a layup or pull up jumper. What does she do when or if an opposing team cuts the lane off ?

 

She will have to develop a outside game to play in college. She currently shoots low 20% I think from the 3 point line. Career about the same if I am reading the stats right.

I've not seen her play any one good in HS. She is a good player, but I simply do not believe she would put up those numbers against good or even decent HS teams. She didn't put up absurd numbers when I watched her in recent summers.

 

She would average 35-40 ppg at a minimum playing the schedule anyone in the state plays (with her Jenkins team). She is that good IMO.

As a fan base we dont get to see what Creech is doing very often and may not ever see it again. We get to see great players year after year, but to see someone average 50 ppg for a season and near 40 ppg for a career is something very rare and very special. She takes good shots, plays very very hard, passes when cut off to open teammates, goes against full court double and triple teams, etc.

 

We should all appreciate this while it last. Its not easy to do as evidence by bad teams across the state in both boys and girls every year, yet we dont see such numbers. This girl is fun to watch and if you get the chance its worth the drive and price of admission regardless of your location.

 

If you are a basketball fan, you need to get Jenkins schedule and go see this girl play. You will be able to say you saw it in person one day and be glad you did.

Saw this young lady for myself today against East Carter. To get the negative out of the way briefly. She is not a Miss KY candidate. I agree with all the others that is Erin Boley's to lose. Boley is by far the more complete player. The End.

 

Now for the real: She is a great athlete in general. My guess is she would excel or at least be really good at any sport. She has great upper body strength as evidenced by the number of times she is able to shoot through contact and still be accurate to the basket. She has a great euro step and ball movement during her layup. Skills that are hard to learn and are more natural and instinctive than any other player I have seen. But I believe her vision is and her ability to move the defender one direction and the go back the other directing is fantastic. If I was to place her in a peer class it would be with Ally Neace from SK and Bailey Cummins from Bracken County. Also great Shooters, though I think Creech has better vision and is more athletic than both. Lastly, I love the little guy and while Creech and Jenkins are the little engine that could my favorite part of today's game was the 2 "very" young ladies on the bench for Jenkins as Creech picked up her 4th foul and another player fouled out. The thought that they may be put into action was on one hand exciting and on the other kinda nerve racking.

 

Of Jenkins, I am officially a fan. Of Creech I am also a fan and look for to do great things at WKU.

Very interesting to watch and notice not one time does a teammate give her 5 or acknowledge anything she does.

was actually a question I was going to ask. When Jenkins is up 20 or down 20 does she stay in the game? how much does she sit during the game. I get the system is to let her score as much as she can but was curious about in blow outs when most clear the bench what Jenkins does? she is averaging 35 shots a game so not a slam just curious.

After this thread was started I watched a couple of videos of both girls. There's no argument from me that Boley is the top player in the state, and I see why she was recruited by the top hoops schools. Notre Dame has a talented player with her. I would have rather seen her in Kentucky blue, but I'm a UK fan. She'll have a great career with the Irish.

 

As for Creech, she's very talented as well. She made the right decision with WKU. She will see more playing time there than at an SEC school or one of the other power conferences. As far as an earlier comment about her lack of defense I would think that she could probably do better but the coach doesn't want her in foul trouble. She can't score from the bench and she's their primary weapon. I agree, though, that she'll have a tougher time getting her shot off at the next level, but that's with most players going to the next level. Boley will see more aggressive defenses as well.

Saw her play vs Henry Clay where they just wore her down with transition and physical defense. Not to jump Rains' responses here but if she were in Etown we would probably not be talking about her as she would share scoring with all the other D1 talent that has been through their in the last couple of years. On the other hand she would have been able to develop her defensive game without fear of foul trouble.
