I like Whitney as a person and as a player, but I'm simply stating she wouldn't put those #s up against good competition.

Don't use the small town team as an excuse for not developing players or attending tournaments.

Look at Clinton County from the early 90s to the early 2000s. Not only were they competitive, they were a top team in the state for much of that run. They developed players and attended good tournaments.

Let me know when she plays a good team.

And you say she isn't legit? I just think you are being overboard and negative toward this young lady. She has worked her tail off and stayed home at Jenkins, instead of transferring to Perry Central or Letcher Central or Knott Central, and tried to make her team better. You say, let me know when she plays someone good? Out of all the games you've watched her play, she hasn't played anyone good?? Really??

I've not seen her play any one good in HS. She is a good player, but I simply do not believe she would put up those numbers against good or even decent HS teams. She didn't put up absurd numbers when I watched her in recent summers.

After reading these post I decided to attend yesterdays game. I was impressed with Creech. Has a good shot, makes good decisions and yesterday had a good % on the shots. She never quits while the clock is ticking such as going after the rebound of her own shot. Seemed to me all most all her points come off of driving the lane for a layup or pull up jumper. What does she do when or if an opposing team cuts the lane off ?

 

Very interesting to watch and notice not one time does a teammate give her 5 or acknowledge anything she does.

No. Creech is a very good high school player. But in college she will have to learn to shoot the 3 much better. UK, UL and the other top programs in America generally only recruit top kids in America. Plus in college you will have to guard top players in America, something I do not think any of them thought she could do. This is not a put down to her at all either. Just saying in college things are much different than playing for Jenkins. All those pulls ups will be contested by much longer athletic kids and the rebounds get much harder to get. And if you cant guard at the college level you wont play. But she is a handful at this level.
