She also played in an time where the competition was not even close to what she would see if she played in high school today. It was at the beginning of the Title IX mandated girls basketball and most schools just cobbled together teams. There was a girl in our region named Peggy Gay who played for Buckhorn (and later for EKU) that put up big numbers against everyone she played.

If a team had one girl that could dribble and score most defenses couldn't stop them in those days.

 

I think that's what most of these posters are saying about Creech. She is a good player for sure, but she has not played the competition that Boley or several of the other kids have. Do not have any idea who her high school coach is but Creech would never be allowed to take the amount of shots she takes on any other team in the USA, not one. Look at the youtube videos of her playing high school ball and don't even focus on her, just look at who she is playing. Plus she never passes to her team mates. Lucky the Jenkins coach does not take the heat from the other parents.....

The game I watched (Granted 1 half of 1 game), Creech hit the open team mate every time she was cut off or didnt have a shot. Her teammates probably shot 15 shots in the half. Overall I thought she made the correct play every time (meaning Jenkins got a quality shot every possession) and she took very good shots.

 

This may have been the outlier as I was prepared to see a player force every single shot, but that was not the case. Opponent quality is suspect I agree.

NFHS only counts HS points so Creech won't get close.

Jenkins traveled to Montgomery County today and won 70-45. Creech had 60. Hope some of you were able to come out and watch her.

I just saw her play in the Gateway Classic at Montgomery Co. and she's the real deal and then some. She's also a very nice young lady.

Let me know when she plays a good team.

I don't have a "team." Igo is very good, but Igo is an 8th grader, Creech is a senior. Outside of Igo that team isn't good at all. Igo will sign much higher than Creech.

I'd like to see Creech play any of the Louisville teams, or even 4th or 5th region with athletes. She won't go for 60.

She scored 60 today and had 4 assists,which means she helped account for at least 68 of their 70 points.

First, the school is tiny and deep in eastern Kentucky. The team isn't very good, although she is. The cost of going to play a 5th/6th/7th region team would likely be exorbitant and her team probably would get handled, no matter how good she is. So it appears the coach/scheduler did what was best for her team.
