Todd Frazier Traded to White Sox in Three-Team Deal With Dodgers and Reds

Featured Replies

209 ks in 2046 PAs over 5 seasons at all levels. That doesn't sound like a swing and miss guy to me. Remember a guy named Larkin who had 29 errors in one of his early years?

With 98 walks in 2046 plate appearances and very little pop it doesn't much matter if he's not a swing and miss guy. That just means he's slapping at a lot of pitcher's pitches. You're not going to get on base at a decent clip in the big leagues doing that.

And Larkin's 29 errors were at shortstop, not the much easier 2B.

Cincinnati fans love their hometown heroes. Loyal to the end.

You can BET on that.

Phillips and Bruce will be next. Chapman is damaged goods now along with an overpaid Bailey. Votto and his contract might not be untradeable given what the Cubs are paying 65 RBI guys. (If he agrees to it because Joey hates losing and that is all that is going to happen here for the next 2-3 years).

I feel bad for the season ticket sales people at GABP this year. There is not enough lipstick in all of Ohio to make this pig look good. Wow, the Reds are going to be bad next year. I know two season ticket holders who have told me that NO WAY they renew next year...can't blame them. If by some Festivus Miracle they are decent next year, it will not be too hard to get tickets whenever you want. I am envisioning some Tuesday night games in late April when it is 39 degrees with about 1,500 people in the stands...

You mean besides keeping my girl happy right? :D

Tell her she got it to remind her of her favorite player since he was leaving, maybe frame it for her!

I don't think either team gave up on him as much as they needed to trade him to get what they wanted in return, the Braves from the Dodgers and the Dodgers from the White Sox.

Reports today apparently say Braves and Dodgers scouts view him as a utility man at best.

The braves valued Albies more.

Phil Castellini is personally calling season ticket holders...

If Votto duplicates this past year next season, I would bet the house they'd be able to find a taker.

Chapman will be dealt, as will Bruce and BP (assuming he approves the move). Would not be surprised to see Meso go as well.

How many wins would you predict with Frazier in the lineup?

How many wins do you predict now that Frazier has been traded?

I honestly can't say "how many wins, etc.". What I was saying is that trading Frazier is not going to help the Reds one bit. Shipping the guy who is basically the face of the Reds right now.... or was the face of the Reds. I believe that as with any professional sports in todays times that it's about the money. Frazier imo deserves the money, he loves the Reds, the city and does nothing to hurt his or the Reds name reputation.

JMO ... the Reds #1 move above any other should have been to dump the high school team level manager they have and again ... Pay for a very good manger. Price did a decent job with the pitching as a pitching coach but it honestly seemed to me that he was overwhelmed with a manager's position. Price, at times actually looked lost, no confidence in himself and no clue how to run a baseball game. This management wants to talk a good game / team, not deliver it. I personally know of two families in my immediate area that are not renewing season tickets, going to go to Cincy as often or at all, spend the money to stay weekends, maybe take kids to area attractions, eat at Cincy / NKY motels, eateries. I am sure tat there are others from different places that have or thinking about doing the same.

Back to your question .... as I said, I have no idea as far as number of wins / loses. I can say pretty confidently I believe is that Frazier being out of that clubhouse will hurt the Reds. A team leader who other players looked up to along with being a pretty good, not great but good 3rd baseman and can hit with power has to help and imo certainly didn't hurt the Reds.

Reds management wants a Mercedes Benz team paying Prius salaries and "that ain't gonna happen". A person / team in this case has to spend money to make money. Put a quality team on the field and they will keep the baseball crazy town and Reds fans butts in the seats for the entire season, not just the first couple of months or until the all star break. That will bring in more money / profits, not trading your best players for basically nothing. That or become a very good minor league team.

*Last place in all of baseball

Somebody doesn't understand the position the Reds are in. :lol2:

If people are deciding whether or not to renew their season tickets based on Frazier being on the roster or not, well, they probably aren't real fans anyways.

It has to get worse for it to get better. This is the only way they can build another contending team. Look what happened to Philly when they held onto their guys too long, that organization was a mess. Think if they traded Utley and Howard when they should have? This team would be the Astros 2.0, but now they are about 3 years late and are just now getting good prospects.

Just think of all the draft picks you'll get over the next few years with those horrible finishes.

Yup, with or without Frazier...
