What are the odds of Dunn getting to 100 Ribbies in 11 games, he needs 8.

Maybe they could have used their 2 and 6 hitter that got traded away for bullpen help that hasn't helped. Just a hunch though.

It might have helped, but would they have won anything? Next year we would have returned without Kearns or Lopez, so next year the trade will help.

...the Reds will still need starting Pitching

I like the four that will return and if we can get Ramirez and Bailey up and effective the pitching might end up being pretty good.

If you mean the following:

Harang

Arroyo

Lohse

Milton

...then they will again, be a .500 team. Until the recent slide, offensive power numbers have been good. The Reds K too much and don't put the ball in play, as consistently as other playoff contending teams, which hurts the run production but starting pitching, is the Achilles heel.

Why would they have not been back next year? It's my understanding, and I could be wrong, that they are not unrestricted free agents after this year.

You know, we use to have a turntable and when it would skip on albums, we would tape a penny to the stylus to keep it from skipping. If we tape a penny to STRIKE3, do you think he'd move on from starting pitching to something else or is it inevitable that he's stuck there?:D

of course S3 I'm just kidding, I happen to agree, but I think that you can cut and paste your posts from pages prior and no one would notice!

If Bailey lives up to expectations then that's a tough five pitchers. Harang and Arroyo are very solid. Lohse was "the next big thing" 2 years ago and is finally pitching like it, and Milton would be a great 9 million dollar fifth starter. ;) If Bailey is one of the top three (with Harang and Arroyo) the pitching staff could be very good next year.

.... I just try to be consistent, in my observations and I'm a realist, not an optimist.

No one would notice my posts....:scared:

....Good jab on Milton....:thumb:

I like Harang and Arroyo, they have been stellar this year and had the normal ups and downs, all MLB pitchers will have. Lohse, has the potential to be a solid pitcher in the NL, time will tell....the other, sorry but GABP would have to move the fences back.

Bailey has tremendous potential and a lot of accolades, but expecting him to come in and be 15-5, 14-6 is a LOT to expect from a Rookie. I hope he can but my logic, says 8-6, 8-8...somewhere in that area.

Reds have some position players concerns, that need to be addressed if they hope to contend in '07.

Wow what a lineup!

Dunn leads the league in strikeouts, no way??!!

Didn't want to draw too much attention in case HSSB is reading.

His chance at 100 ribbies won't be easy today, :scared:

4-0 Astronomicals. Luke Scott hits a bases-clearing triple. He has all four RBI's.

Dino leaves with an injured foot/ankle.

Freel leaves the games with an injured hand/wrist.

Reds' headed towards 74-78.
