There must be some really talented kickers in NKY right now. I've not seen anyone with a leg quite as good as Highlands kicker Nick Bowman at the freshman level. He will be the varsity kicker for the next 3 years. In freshman last year he must've kicked 90+% of his kickoffs into the endzone and numerous long FG's.

 

Having a really good kicker can make the difference in those close games.

 

I totally agree. This year for Cooper in the Regional Championship against SK not having their kicker cost them big time in that game. They missed their first XP and were forced to go for two at the end of the game. They were also in field goal range once or twice. Could have been the difference in the game!!!

 

Sounds like NKY does have some very talented kickers as underclass men!!! Good luck to all of these young men mentioned and hope they lead the way next year in this area and the state!

I like what CCH has coming back in important positions:

QB, RB,OT, and linebackers.

 

A big key for them next year and he knows it, is Brent Angel breaking out. Too much of a talent not to have more on his resume.

Heard a RUMOR, and I am sure it is just that, that Morgan was actually thinking of going back to Hazard. Has anyone heard anything on this and if so, why??

 

This would surprise me. He's been working out with my son and Chase Ross at ASAP and also at Ryle working with his WRs. He's talking about next season this, and next season that. He is a good kid, straight shooter, so any rhetoric coming from his indicates that he is staying. He is a leader on this team, he seems quite happy. Very humble in regards to his success and opportunities. Impressive kid.

That is good. Again, it was from the grapevine so didn't know if there was any truth to it or not just stating what I had heard. He had a good year and would think he would want to be a part of that team next year that seems to have quite a bit returning.

I don't think he was hurt but I do believe he was not utilized to his full potential. I know he punted well for CCH (thought maybe he'd make the coaches team as well) but somehow CCH has to find a way to get the ball in his hands because he's a big target and has great leaping ability that would be beneficial especially over smaller DBs.

Jake Martin and Chase Keller returns for Brossart next year. They started both ways this past year and will be forces to reckon with in NKY next year.

Is this a case of getting lost in the shuffle with the new staff? I thought he would be a significant contributor this past year, but somehow fell off the radar.

 

He punted well the last two weeks with a broken hand. Maybe that had something to do with his lack of PT down the stretch.

Grant Murray & Jared Pulsfort will be 2 returning RB's for the Birds. I would expect them to get a TON of carries.

 

Brayden Posey will be the major breakout player for the birds next year. Kid just doesn't drop balls, and he knows how to go get it. I think he was the most trustworthy WR as a soph. I'm assuming that Gosney will be the QB? If so he is pretty accurate and I expect him to improve.

 

The Morgan vs Racke 6A QB battle will be pretty awesome.

Covington Holy Cross has everyone coming back but 5 players..

What are his routes like? That is the issue sometimes. Big targets, can go up and get it, but don't create enough separation out of their breaks. I guarantee you, Eddie will find match up problems, and with Mayer being back with a full summer as the starting QB, then his production will be much higher than this year.

Crosley New was hurt the entire season this year as a soph, he was a very good freshman player. I would expect him to have a very strong Junior year at full health.

 

Michael Dunn is also a current sophomore and he was a starter on the line. The kid has great feet and is very strong. He will be a top returning lineman in NKY.
