A question about gun control

Featured Replies

Tons of standard hunting rifles are semi autos and I simply don't believe you now or have ever owned a shotgun or firearm of any kind. I doubt you've ever even owned a bb gun.

Used an old Herter's 12-gauge reloader, kind of like this one. (You remember the giant Herter's catalog, don't you?) Uncle owned a trap range. Shot trap, sporting clays, even skeet. "Pull!"

Death rate would be lower with swords and rocks.

How do you know? Swords are pretty deadly. Isil uses them to chop off Americans heads every chance they get.

So you take AR's away are you ok with 10 people dying from a handgun or shotgun. The AR is just your public psychological product of choice. The agenda will progress to the next one.

It's an evil problem not an inanimate object problem. Focus on fixing the people, they're the ones you should be afraid, not the object they choose to cause harm with.

The name of the game is limiting the carnage. Ain't ever going to fix crazy. It's about the weaponry, not the people.

If you say so.

You realize you can have a lot more carnage without firearms?

That could lead to a lot of casualties. Especially if we can't protect ourselves.

More people killed with pistols at Virginia Tech than at any attack using semi auto rifles in the US...but it's more about the weaponry than the mentally unstable people that commit crimes like this, right?

9/11 it was about the weaponry not the people, right?

Oklahoma City, it was about the weaponry not the people, right?

Columbine, it was about the weaponry not the people, right?

How are you going to keep people from being crazy/evil?

How are you going to keep weapons out of the hands of people who are crazy/evil?

I can outrun a sword. I'm pretty fast for a southern white dude.

I can't outrun any gun.

There are always going to be crazy/evil people...is your answer to disarm the world?

My point is that it IS about the people, the weaponry is secondary to the crazy/evil thoughts and actions of people.

I've stated several times on many threads the changes that I would make in current laws that I think would help or be a start, none of which bans any currently available firearm...but we can not legislate a perfectly safe society, never have been able to and never will be able to.

I guess we better take away all of the guns in the world then since you can't out run them. Personally, I've never ever even seen a gun move on its own, much less run.

How many times have ash trays, propane tanks or old Buicks been used in school massacres? Why is it always the same types of weapons?

Or to put it another way, does it bother you that Tashfeen and Syed, formerly of San Bernardino, Calif., tried to ramp up their Smith & Wesson M&P15 to full auto?

After hundreds of posts on these gun threads, I have yet to read a good answer on why any citizen needs to own an M&P15 or an AR-15 when goosing these guns up to full auto apparently isn't that tough to do.

Klebold & Harris used these at Columbine.

The Boston Marathon attackers used pressure cookers.

You just aren't very bright.

An inanimate object does nothing unless a human picks it up and uses it.

It's a people problem.
