Doesn't surprise me. Coach Chirico is an outstanding human being and made the right decision for his kids future. It was a difficult decision to make I'm sure, not the popular decision, but the right one nonetheless. Just another example of how kids come first to Coach and i applaud him for doing the right thing.

 

Could you imagine the fall out if Kash took a hit to his knee and tore the ACL? Then never got to play at full strength at UK? And what if he had played, gotten hurt, and they still lost in a close one? It was the right decision regardless of who made the call, but dont surprise me which way Coach Chirico went.

Sounds like Kash wanted to play but the decision was made by someone else. I would venture to say that a comment was later made referring to the past that was taken as the gospel when in fact there was no ill will toward the coach or the players.

The fact is whether it was Kash, his dad, Coach Chirico, or the UK staff, they are all closer to this issue than we are. You should respect the decision as this kid has a bright and promising future and we should do nothing but wish him the best.

Not going to lie I don't know this kid but if I were him I'd care much more about my college career than a 1A football title in KY.

I was at the game and several Paintsville fans (didn't ask if they were parents or otherwise affiliated) indicated to me that Stoops and staff suggested that he not play.

Could be right. Probably thinking of basketball.

 

Clyde, once he received his official offer letter, his scholarship is protected. If he would of gotten injured in any game during his senior year, his scholly would of been fulfilled by UK even if it was career ending. That's a fact. Reassuring to get that letter for kids during their Sr. season.

Neither Stoops, Elliot or anyone affiliated with UK had any say on this decision. They were getting ready for Louisville! The Dr present even made the comment that he wasn't gonna say he couldn't play because he knew in the end if he wanted to play he would but he felt it was still a little loose. There's so much to the story it's not worth going on about. It is what it is! Paintsville had a great opertunity at a state title this year and with such a high level opponent in that game no matter who woulda been out they woulda fell short! If they had Daniel and Phelps was out or Trimble or Allen, they couldnt have done it! Paintsville needed every single Tiger on the field to Take Pikeville! For PAINTSVILLE 2015 is over and we'll focus on 2016! As for Pikeville you've got 1 more! I have no doubt about their chances come tomorrow!! I hope Pugh has 300yds!

To this point we have:

 

1. Even though he was medically cleared Kash didn't feel the risk was worth the reward

2. Dad wouldn't let him play - looking out for his future

3. Dad had some sort of vendetta against someone - not sure who

4. Kash wasn't cleared to play

5. Kash was released to play

6. WYMT reported Kash was cleared to play

7. Mother told people her son Kash was cleared to play

8. The coaching staff expected him to play

9. The local media expected him to play

10. UK sent 2 members of their medical staff to the game. Told Kash he was not going to play in the game under any circumstances if he wanted to play at UK next year and the source for this information is allegedly the Paintsville Coaching Staff

11. UK had two staff members guarding Kash on the sidelines for most of the game - Men in Blue

12. Kash was cleared to play by his people, he was not cleared to play by UK's people

13. At 5:09 p.m. (wireman received a text saying) that he was not playing. It was on twitter at 5:14 p.m. that a source said he isn't playing and it was confirmed at 5:38 p.m

14. No one from UK was at the game and did not influence anyone playing

15. The Paintsville coaching staff and others said nothing about UK reps being at the game

16. Stoops visited Kash at his house this week

17. A second allegation that UK told Kash not to play or they were pulling his scholarship

18. Multiple sources from Paintsivlle are reporting different stories

19. Coach Chirico made the decision not to play Kash because he felt like it was best for Kash's future

20. Several Paintsville fans at the game indicated that Stoops and staff suggested that he not play

21. The dog that ate ukfan's wet iphone was seen in the area
