November 27, 201510 yr Landed on his left shoulder. Reports say that "the collarbone felt like it did the last time". MRI scheduled.
November 27, 201510 yr It's said that once you break it, it is never the same again. I think of Charles Rogers with Detroit, a super talented wide receiver that broke his collarbone after five games into his rookie year (where he'd scored three TDs). First game of the next season, he broke it again, and he was basically toast from there. In this case, I think it's clear now that Dallas took a huge risk and brought Tony back early, hoping to salvage the season in what was (and incredibly, still is) a situation where they could still make the playoffs. That he may have re-broken it on the very first time he took a significant shot on it shows that he probably should have been out a little longer. But even so, this would now be the THIRD time he has broken his left clavicle - it will probably never totally go away as an issue. It seems to me we might finally be seeing the sun go down on the Romo era. A good QB that has suffered incredible misfortune over and over again.
November 27, 201510 yr IMO Romo shoulda took this year off... I know their division stinks and they thought they could make a run... But they were still gonna have to win almost every game to make the playoffs... This could really shorten what's left of his career.

It seems to me we might finally be seeing the sun go down on the Romo era. A good QB that has suffered incredible misfortune over and over again. I broke my collar bone when I was in high school. I was playing street football on Cov cath's field. I got landed on just like Romo, except the guy that landed on me gave it a little extra umph, and we both heard it snap. It wasn't painful when it broke, but after waiting in the emergency room for four hours, I wasn't a happy camper. Mine wasn't repaired with surgery so the bones didn't mend end to end. There is a lump where the bones grew back together, kind of looks like a sideways L shape. I had some kind of brace that I wore. Seemed like it was worn for about six weeks. I knew Romo came back waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too early.
November 27, 201510 yr If you think about it, it's a pretty terrible place to have a break. You know Jerry Jones heart sank, he's Romo's biggest love.
November 27, 201510 yr It's time for the Cowboys to look for another option at QB. Romo can't stay healthy and they have a solid line and playmakers who could be a good place for someone to step into.

With Romo out the rest of the season one would think so. Would Lynch, Goff or Cook be who they'd try to get if available? Do you see it being someone else?
November 27, 201510 yr As bad as he looked yesterday before his injury this doesn't help. If Im Dallas no way Romo returns next year.
November 27, 201510 yr As bad as he looked yesterday before his injury this doesn't help. If Im Dallas no way Romo returns next year. His contract pretty much guarantees he'll be there if I'm not mistaken. He'd cost alot to cut or trade.
November 27, 201510 yr As bad as he looked yesterday before his injury this doesn't help. If Im Dallas no way Romo returns next year. Why? You can draft a guy for your future next year and still start Romo.
November 28, 201510 yr Author His contract pretty much guarantees he'll be there if I'm not mistaken. He'd cost alot to cut or trade. $90 million over the next 4 years.
November 28, 201510 yr You can make an argument Romo should have been MVP last season. So off this season's injury (and yesterday's poor first half) everyone is ready to cut bait?

I wouldn't, but a bunch of the talking heads already are. Fix the collarbone correctly, write this season off as a bad dream, and prepare for next season with a properly healed and rested Romo at the helm.
November 28, 201510 yr You can make an argument Romo should have been MVP last season. So off this season's injury (and yesterday's poor first half) everyone is ready to cut bait? Not me. Romo is a total stud who had not lost a game this year when he played. He has a bad game and gets hurt and people want him out? Who you going to draft that is better? Someone said Johnny Football will be on the roster next year...knowing Jerry Jones, anything is possible I guess...if he can hold his nose and pick up Greg Hardy, I guess he can make another big mistake and take that train wreck too...
