November 25, 201510 yr Palmer basically had Zimmer for 2 years and only one of those years was the defense as good as Dalton has had it. So palmer having better defenses is wrong. Already established... For the few of you that don't know.. FC is right, under Palmer the defense was 2 points and roughly 30 yards (per game) worse than they've been under Dalton. My thought, a number one overall QB should at least half of the time make the difference to overcome that. Palmer left here with a losing record, so guess he didn't.

Defenses with Palmer ranked 20th and worst each year in yards and points. Defenses with Dalton had been top 10 in both. However as we just concluded in the other thread we agree to disagree on this lol.

November 27, 201510 yr That's why I said in post #8 you can't just go by the numbers.... Different eras, eye test, etc... But I posted the numbers because I don't think most people know them and I think we all suffer from "selective" memory when it comes to our younger days. I was surprised how bad Boomer's winning and passing percentages actually were... And that dropped him for me. I also have Kenny number 1 currently though... The older we get, the better we use to be!

The guy was the best leader at that position, followed by Kitna in the leadership category. Kitna is a little underrrated at times because he was limited in the throws he could make, but he was a gamer. Palmer, AD and Kenny were/are all very quiet reserved leaders, not get in your face types.

I will take Kenny A with Dalton second. Agreed... I still see it as 1. Anderson 2. Dalton 3. Palmer 4. Esiason And all of them can win with a good team full of players doing their jobs... No doubt.
