Urban said today he now regrets not taking over play-calling in the game.

Not good for the OC.

IMO doesn't matter, a new guy was coming anyhow. Think the Herman thing caught him a little unprepared, my guess is he has his eye on someone already. Pretty good gig to be OC under Meyer, leads to head coaching job more often than not. These guys this year were the exception

Missing out on Mike Sanford will cost Meyer a playoff chance this season.

I think having to really good Qbs and not truly committing to one causes problems because they are completely different in style ability. I am going off of memory, but didn't they have two totally different packages and offensive styles for each one? I could be mis-remembering though...

Agreed! Last year JT had a great year because he was the clear cut starter and there was no thought about anyone else and the offense was designed around him. Plus he didn't have to worry about being benched. Then after he got hurt, Jones came in and the system was designed for him, and he didn't have to worry about playing bad or making a play and being bench.

Last year it didn't hurt them because neither Qb had to look over their shoulder, and the coaches also were able to just focus on one QB.

Not that Urban is hurting for money but this loss cost him $150k and if they fail to make the final 4 it will cost him up to another $350k.

Nice gig if you can get it.

I want a rematch of this game. It probably won't happen unless NC can do us a favor. But this was the most watched game of the year, so it's safe to say America wants this rematch too. Haha I don't want to wait for next year to get back at MSU. I want them now. The more the days pass, the more and more angry I get. I was more mad after the Michigan game than I was after this game.

How does UNC help?

True, but it certainly gives them a better chance than Clemson beating UNC.

My hope is that the committee truly wants the 4 best teams, if UNC beats Clemson, I don't see how the committee can put UNC in over Ohio State. I understand they would be conference champs, but there are 3 good teams in the ACC and they would have only played one of them. If they beat Clemson by a large margin ~14+ then yeah they will probably put them in over Ohio State, but does anyone really expect that. If Clemson loses, the teams think the order of the teams that will replace them will be Stanford(assuming they beat USC), Ohio State, then UNC.

TCU circa 2014 agrees with your thinking.

They thought that way before Ohio State knocked off everyones top team Alabama and then rolled through Oregon. They haven't said much since. But if Ohio State beat Wisconsin like 28-17 or something like that, they wouldn't have gotten in and Alabama would have been the first playoff champions. It was more about Ohio State won as opposed to them just being conference champs. There was no doubt Ohio State was one of the top 4 teams in the country last year, no matter what the people in Fort Worth said.

They specifically said conference championships matter when explaining TCU's quick, big drop.

Do you think Ohio State would have gotten in last year if they didn't beat Wisconsin 59-0? I don't.
