Oh yeah because Bama was so overconfident. They were totally just looking ahead to next week. Give me a break. Last years OSU team put a beat down on both Bama and made the heisman trophy winner look mediocre. They beat the best Bama team Saban has had since he got there and the best offense in college football. Don't bash that team.

I can only guess that OSU felt that they needed the extra blocker you gain from having the QB running the ball because they were getting out manned upfront. Meyer has said that Elliott is the best blocking running back he has ever seen, maybe they felt that was the best way to utilize him.

They didn't even have Zeke in as an extra blocker. They went empty backfield about half of the time.

The locker room is where you get it out in the open...doing it in the media is like complaining about your boss in the break room, then he walks in and you offer him some of your lunch...

 

It has zero to do with whether he is right about it or not.

You don't think they have been expressing their opinions on the offense all season? It all came to fruition last night and he didn't have a choice but to call the OC's out.

If one great thing can come from this. We beat Michigan next week, and all is forgiven. Go play in a New Years 6 bowl game and see where it takes you. I also don't think it's a forgone comclusion that MSU will beat Penn State next week. If Ohio State can get back in the champ game and knock off Iowa, I'll take my chances as B1G champ.

I was actually agreeing with your post until you said they they beat best Bama team Saban has had. I know your an OSU fan and you all love to build up things even more than what they really are. However that was probably not even one of Sabans top 5 Bama teams since hes been there or maybe just barely in top 5 at best.

Your team is the defending National Champs, haven't lost a big ten game under Meyer at home, has been undefeated all year. Yet they lose a game and deal with true adversity for the first time really in a year or two and they go sound off to the media? Yeah that doesn't look good at all and makes them look very bad. I guess you would agree if every player across the country starts complaining about the coaching to the media after tough seasons. It was by far the best offense Saban had since at Bama both statistically and just the eye test. They had a mobile QB last year and there offense was rolling over everyone. It was definitely his best team at Bama. There defense was typical of every Bama defense. Look up what all of the analysts were saying about them before the OSU game last year. Look at their stats last year. It was hands down the best Bama team Saban has had. Period.

Did you watch the game? The best player in the whole country touched the ball twice in the second half! I don't care who you are, what kind of character you have, when you are that good and have that much respect in the locker room, you can say what he said. It was an absolute joke. It wasn't just typical bad play calling that were used to where they just put players in a position to fail. They didn't even give him the opportunity! He's the best player on the team and IMO the best player in college football and you lost your chance to win back to back titles because you didn't give him the ball. What he said wasn't disrespectful, it shows that this kid truly puts his whole life out there for his team and his coaches prohibited him from doing that. They would have won the game if they would have just given him the ball.

Congrats Sparty you all 100% deserved it! I know the UK OSU haters will be happy but at least OSU got a title out of this group.

 

Meyer has to make serious changes with coordinators. I don't even know if they can put together a game plan to beat Michigan.

As for the game and comments by Zeik and Jones afterwards ... Yes, it was a complete embarrassment and MSU certainly deserved the win. Whats even more frustrating to me is with as bad as the offensive game plan / play calling was, Sparty can still only get a three point win, OSU should have been blown off the field. That's how good the Bucks talent is ..to play the worst game / offensive game plan of the season and still lose by only a fg. Bottom line to me anyway was that the Bucks got absolutely whipped on both the O and D lines. MSU owned the l.o.s. and that's an L against anyone.

Now for the players. I was even further disappointed in the post game comments "to the press" by Jones and Elliot. I can certainly see why they were so frustrated but to me anyway, a player throwing his coach/coaching staff under the bus is uncalled for. Elliot should have been frustrated / P'd off amoung a lot of other adjectives but you keep that between you and the coach if you want to complain, not the public. jmo

I am like you JA in that I don't know if they can rebound to beat Michigan or not. I would like to think so bc it's the team up Norh plus there is still an outside shot to win the Big10 Championship .... a lot of things have to happen but should Penn St. beat Sparty next week, The Bucks / Mich. winner would win their division and play Iowa for the Championship. Will all that happen and the Bucks pull it off ? I doubt it but it is possible. There is still an opportunity to get the Big10 title and one of the top bowl bids. I just don't know if they can recover, especially if there is division in the locker room.

At any rate and regardless of what happens I am still and always will be an OSU Football fan. :thumb:

Agree basically 100% except I don't think there is division in the locker room. I think they are still united as a team and I don't this changes that. Sometimes families fight, but in the end they are family. Honestly I think PSU would beat Mich State with a better gameplan. They have a great back and if they utilize him in a way that we didn't utilize Zeke, they can win. But the most important thing is knocking off the team up north. I think they will. I hope that you're right and there isn't any of that. Sometimes that kind of thing can steam roll into problems everwhere, that's what I meant.
