You get what you pay for...

I highly doubt she got a "cheap" boob job.

I was a die hard real Christmas tree person for over 30 years. I loved the hunt for the perfect tree, and tried to make it an event for my kids (though years later, I was told I was a Christmas tree bully.)

About 5 years ago, I came downstairs the day after Thanksgiving, and there in my living room was a beautiful pre-lit artificial tree. Guess they had enough of my Christmas tradition.

I have to admit that I love it! No needles all over the place...and much cheaper in the long run.

I have a pre-lit artificial that I got from my mom when she decided 3 trees in her house were too much to do anymore. She really loved decorating for Christmas.

N/A. I'm never home during Christmas, so it's pointless. Why have a tree if nobody's there to see it. I'll get my fill of Christmas trees at my parents', my brother's and my Iowa relatives' places.

I highly doubt she got a "cheap" boob job.

I was still talking about Christmas Trees!

Well this certainly isn't what I was hoping...

Honestly though, the same principles apply when it comes to both. You can get fakes, but everybody will know how much you paid by where and how things point. Better to spend the money and do it right the first time.

Fake tree.

When we start having kids we'll go the real route, but until then....

Usually fake. Every few years though, we get the urge to have a real tree.

10' fake and pre-lit.

10'? Impressive!

My mom and dad own about 70 acres of mostly mountainous land that surrounds their property. When I was a kid, every Thanksgiving, while mom was cooking our dinner, my dad would take my brother and me up through the hills for several hours. We would select a Christmas tree and cut it down. I kind of miss those days. I haven't had a real tree in over 25- 30 years. Some years, I don't even put one up. Christmas hasn't been a big deal in our family since our grandfather died. When he died so did so many of our Christmas traditions.

About 10 or so years ago General Dollar had $10 miniature fiber optic trees where I bought 10 of them and gave away 7 as gifts when visiting friends during the holiday season.

Everyone loved them, and though they were inexpensive they didn't look tacky as they shimmied in a colorful delightful way to the eye. I still get comments from a few people that they still have it and use it as an accent decoration in parts of the house where they don't have their large tree placed. Some add additional ornaments to enhance them with a personal touch.

The three that I have still work (not sure where I'd get a replacement bulb if they were ever to die), and normally I just set up one of them in my small pad, and some years all three in every corner when I'm in a more extreme mood.

They easily bend back in place to be stored back in their box when the season is over, and a zip to set it up again when the next Christmas season arrives.

Even though they were nifty when the fad started, they haven't lost their appeal to the eye and still have a smart and not so outdated appealing look about them.

For me they make decorating for a Christmas a snap to set up and take down, and since I live alone I get to experience the enjoyment of adding a seasonal touch to my place without it being a long involved dragged out ordeal.

I remember growing up and having real trees, but that changed because my father didn't like the cleanup of the shedding of the needles. We had a fake tree with the red, green, yellow, and blue rotating lights.

Since then, I have always had a real Frazier Fir tree. They are beautiful and smell so good.

Now, with wife #2, she is big on fake trees and lots of them throughout the house. I get to buy my Frazier fir, but she puts no less than three additional fake trees around the house.

Christmas overkill.

Real tree. Used to go to a tree farm, but in my dotage I generally rely on one of the box stores.
