Bruce has 8 teams that he cannot be traded to.

NYY

Boston

Tampa

Oakland

Twins

Marlins

Indians

Arizona

Not sure what that means. Reds are puzzling at best

After this upcoming season, Jocketty essentially becomes a part time employee. He will basically be an advisor, and Dick Williams will run the show

No news lends me to believe that it's status quo in RedsLand.

Winter meetings are less than a week away. I suspect there will be some action next weekend.

I hope so but believe it's all just lip service at this point.

Would be interesting to know the reasoning behind some of those.

I believe Bowman tweeted out that a lot of FA signings our depending on trades that are available including Chapman and Bruce. I hope we have some deals next week.

Sometimes it is due to the stadium or division that they'll be pitching in. Sometimes they don't like the town. Sometimes the state taxes are too high. Sometimes, like in the case of Boston our New York, they know that the team can afford to guarantee any options that the player might have and they use that as leverage to accept the trade. I'm not saying the last one is the case with Bruce but a lot of players list the big market teams for that reason.

Wouldn't it be funny if we have all this speculation and come Spring Training every single player on this thread's title was wearing a Reds Uniform?

Well that's only 2 players so it wouldn't be a huge shock--depending on what the Reds asking price is.

I believe the Reds want to trade with Houston.

Astros have the best minor league system in MLB right now, but I hope Luhnow (GM) does give up a lot for Chapman, I just feel like the Reds are asking too much for him (this was what was said at the trade deadline and now with the Tigers), plus doesn't he have only one year left on his contract? Being an Astros fan I would love to have Chapman but I would hope if we did get him in a trade he would be willing to sign a multi-year deal but I just can't see that happening, Houston just is not a glamorous type of city like Boston, NY or LA, but we are on the up swing compared to the Reds.

First and likely the last time I think Boston will ever be called glamorous as city.
