Walt came out & said they're planning to blow the roster up --- why would he want an excuse to keep the roster in tact? Also, I was surprised to hear Jocketty's comments due to the timing of it. I suspect the Reds will make some relatively significant trades between December 7th & December 9th.

Wood, 30, pitched for the Pirates’ Triple-A team in Indianapolis last season, going 2-5 with a 3.53 ERA and 70 strikeouts, with 25 walks in 58.2 innings. He is 6-7 with a 4.39 ERA in parts of four seasons with the Royals and Indians. All 115 of his career big-league appearances have come out of the bullpen. “We look for a guy with a plus arm who can throw strikes and he had a lot of success in Indy last year with 29 saves,” said Walt Jocketty, the Reds' president of baseball operations. “We see him as a potential bullpen guy for us.”
