Reds get cold feet, package not good enough or a combination? Possibly an excuse to use to keep the roster in tact?

If I am Phillips why not go somewhere else, Cueto and Edinson are glad they did

I think he likes it in Cincy too much.

He's single, has no family to worry about. Nothing trumps winning IMO.

Maybe, but playing on a team with Joey Votto, that means BP gets the "face of the franchise" star treatment that he likely doesn't get anywhere else, and I think that appeals to him a great deal.

Tigers checked into Chapman but were not happy with the asking price.

Walt came out & said they're planning to blow the roster up --- why would he want an excuse to keep the roster in tact?

Also, I was surprised to hear Jocketty's comments due to the timing of it. I suspect the Reds will make some relatively significant trades between December 7th & December 9th.

I think the Reds were asking for more than they wanted to give.

I believe the Reds want to trade with Houston.

Tigers got Rodriguez from the Brewers.

I think it would be an easy out by saying they tried hard to make some deals but just couldn't get fair market value for these guys.

Doesn't he have a daughter here?

Walt needs to go. Anyone who thinks this club is,2-3 years from being back in playoff contention is delusional...

He is going... Where have you been the past month?

Is this a possible replacement for Hoover who then becomes the closer freeing Chapman up for a trade?

Wood, 30, pitched for the Pirates’ Triple-A team in Indianapolis last season, going 2-5 with a 3.53 ERA and 70 strikeouts, with 25 walks in 58.2 innings. He is 6-7 with a 4.39 ERA in parts of four seasons with the Royals and Indians. All 115 of his career big-league appearances have come out of the bullpen.

“We look for a guy with a plus arm who can throw strikes and he had a lot of success in Indy last year with 29 saves,” said Walt Jocketty, the Reds' president of baseball operations. “We see him as a potential bullpen guy for us.”

He's gone? Who's the gm?
