Way to go RAMS !! :ylsuper:

Congrats to K. Snyder on eclipsing the 1,000 yd. mark rushing for the season. Also, C. Christian came back with a good night as he rushed for 105 yds. Defensively, Raceland's D made a huge 1st half goal line stand to stop Brossart from a goal to go from the 5, turning the possession over. That defensive stand proved to be big in the 2nd half due to Brossart's fine team, kids not laying down and fighting back. There was no quit in the Mustangs.

RAMS .... No celebration, enjoy this one on the way home. When you walk off the bus, be focused on Paintsville and returning to the scene of "the embarrassment" at the hands of the Tigers. Raceland still Has to cut out the Stupid Penalties. 100 yds. to 50yds. in penalties on the opponet is unacceptable.

"Survive and Advance" .........RAM PRIDE !

Also btw, congrats to the Brosaart program on the season you had. I can assure that this wasn't a one time show for Bishop Brossart, 1A teams will be having to deal with you regularly in future seasons.

Refs done a good job for the most part but at least 2 of those 15 yard personal foul penalties were the result of slipping due to wet field and landing on the pile after the play was over.

^^ I would add in the goal line stand by Raceland when the Mustangs had the ball

1st and Goal from the 8 but couldn't punch it in early in the 3rd Quarter after recovering a Rams fumble on their first play from scrimmage in the second half.

Congratulations and Best Wishes to the Rams as they advance to the second round of the Class 1-A playoffs next week.

Congrats to the Rams and also to the boys from Brossart. No shame in playing toe to toe vs a 1A power. A great story of redemption.

All good things must come to an end, and the clock struck midnight on the Mustangs "Cinderella" season in a hard-fought 22-14 loss to the Raceland Rams at Bob Miller Stadium in Alexandria.

Neither team could put points on the board in the first quarter, but Raceland drew first-blood at the 10:03 mark of the second period when Kane Snyder scored on a 1 yard run, culminating a 90 yard drive. When the two point conversion was good, the Rams led 8-0.

The Rams scored again three minutes later, with 7:17 left to play in the half when Carson Christian carried the football 21 yards for a touchdown, and when Luke LeMaster split the uprights the Rams had extended their lead to 15-0. The Mustangs had their chance late in the half when we moved the ball to the Raceland 23 yard line, before fumbling to away on a bad exchange.

The Mustangs kicked off to the visitors to start the second half but spit up the piggie on their first play from scrimmage, setting up a Brossart touchdown, when Craig Pfefferman found Chase Keller in full stride up the sideline, which Keller took to the house and with a Cetrulo PAT, it was suddenly a one possession ballgame at 15-7.

Raceland once again got two-possession separation with a 42 yard pass play from Nathaniel Davidson to Kyle Jamison at the 11:52 mark in the fourth quarter, expanding the lead to 22-7 with the successful PAT. However, if didn't take the Mustangs but 18 seconds to return the favor as Craig Pfefferman found Frank Cetrulo out of the flat, and Cetrulo traveled 68 yards for a touchdown. Cetrulo completed the touchdown-PAT daily double and it was again a one-possession game with plenty of time to play.

Credit the Raceland Offense who ran the final six minutes off of the clock while moving the football from their own 23 yard line via three successive first-downs causing the Mustangs to burn their three time-outs and were helpless as they watched their season wind down with the expiration of time.

Brossart completes their rubric season at 9-2, while the Rams improve to 7-4 and head back to Paintsville for a rematch with the highly touted Tigers in the second round.

Rams going to what they've needed to be doing the big 2 or 3.

Congratulations on the victory, Raceland and on such a great season, Mustangs! Football is here to stay at Brossart because of you!

I was glad I got to witness this game in person. A great football game to say the least. Big plays were everywhere for both teams. Kane Snyder, IMO, was the best football player out there tonight for both teams. He came ready to play and it looks like he has gotten back into the old Kane Snyder: put his hand down on the ground when losing balance to keep up, trucking kids left and right. It was nice to see him ready for the playoffs.

Wallace sat out most of the game with what looked like an apparent right ankle injury. He twisted it early on and was able to tape it up but couldn't get much strength in it. He will have to ready to go next week.

Hats off to Bishop Brossart. A class act team. #27 was very good and very fast and killed some good runs early in the game. He is a very good football player, as well as #7. Bishop Brossart played a well game. They had a game plan and, for the most part, executed it very well. Really like their coaching staff and players' hearts in this game.

A very good first round win for the Rams and a very nice showing for a program that looked to be extinct the last couple of years. I hope BB rebounds and has an even better year next year.

Game was much closer than it should have been. Officiating was bad, but it was both ways. I dont know if they got a spot right for either team all night. 3 times they called for a measurement and three times the ball ended up a half yard short or ahead of where the measured spot was. But officiating didnt dictate the outcome.

Our lineman get my knod for MVP of this game. Outside of a few carries that the BB QB and RB got loose, they dominated the LOS defensively and offensively I think I could have run for over 100 yards and 2 TDs (i have a hurniated disk and weigh 285 lbs btw). But primarily, if not for our DL being in the QBs face all night, we would not have won this game. They had WR open all night and our corners got burnt on ever sail route, but, their QB never had a chance to set his feet to make a auality throw.

Yet again, dumb penalties stalled drives and really hurt our momentum. A jr and sr heavy team shouldnt make thise kinds of mistakes. The way the game played out, we left 2 TDs off the score board and gave up two big pass plays, game should have been somewhere around 35+ to 7. But hats off to the Mustangs for making some adjustments at half time and causing us to cough up the football on our first play from scrimmage in the second half.

This was a banner and program year for Brossart. Congrats on a good season. Rams, made it out by the skin of our teeth again on the road. Next week is a whole different animal as we already know. But we have given ourselves a chance to avenge our emberassment to the Tigers in the regular season.

I hope you weren't referring to the blatant spear in the back before Raceland's last score? To me that was down right dirty.

After looking at it on Hudl, looks like that one may have been with intent. But after talking to one of the Ram's linemen who I know very well, there were alot of things done by the choir angel linemen of BB at the bottom of the pile that probably brought that particular incident about.

Just watched that game online. Great game, loved watching both teams in the 2nd half. Raceland's RB looked like he was 5'8 170 lbs but ran like Jerome Bettis. Brossart looked good in the 2nd half. Say what you want about Brossart's schedule but that team was legit

I would agree with that. Also, your student cheer section is legit. They had our roster and were talking trash to our non-starters and hurling insults at our coach. Nothing bad, just great support and razzing us a lot. I thought it was awesome.
