October 31, 201510 yr The plane crashed overnight in the Egyptian Sinai Peninsula. All 224 passengers aboard Metrojet Flight 9268 were killed, including 17 children. Most passengers are reported to have been Russian vacationers. At current, Egypt's Minister of Aviation has reported that there are no apparent signs of terrorism, and both the voice recorder and flight data recorder have been recovered. There were no irregularities during the plane's inspection prior to takeoff, nothing unusual during the flight crew's system check, and no distress signals were sent by the crew during the flight. Nonetheless, an ISIS affiliated group in the Sinai Peninsula has claimed responsibility for causing the crash, making specific references to the recent Russian presence in Syria as their motive. However, ISIS's affiliates in the Sinai Peninsula are not known to have currently possessed and of the MANPADs required to shoot a plane flying at 31,000 ft - the altitude occupied by Flight 9268 immediately prior to its rapid descent and disappearance from radars.
October 31, 201510 yr Based on what I've read it appears unlikely that ISIS has the technology/tools to have taken down the plane. It's more likely they were just taking advantage of the circumstances by claiming credit for it.
November 1, 201510 yr As was mentioned, ISIS is in that area of the Sinai, and Russia is now saying that the plane broke apart in mid air. If true, then it very well may be ISIS.
November 2, 201510 yr Who is to say ISIS doenst have stingers to shoot down a plane. Of course our government will go to extremes to say they dont. They could have very well got them from Libya from the Benghazi incident of weapon smuggling by Obama/Clinton.

They very well could have got them from Iran, left overs from the Iran Contra deal. This and your posts are not proven. Prove something and just don't go pointing fingers at those you hate.
November 2, 201510 yr Bottom line is ISIS very well could have had weapons to take down an airliner. Heck they could left overs from the Russian/Afgan war.
November 2, 201510 yr Bottom line is ISIS very well could have had weapons to take down an airliner. Heck they could left overs from the Russian/Afgan war. If they have them, the Russian angle is the most realistic.

Stinger Missiles battery life is only 4-5 yrs, so thats why I brought up the most recent screw up by Washington. But yeah I dont like Obama or Clinton. BUT that dont take away the fact they were in charge of that whole mess. I mean who else is to blame?
November 2, 201510 yr It's entirely possible that ISIS managed to get their hands on some of the hardware that the Iraqi army abandoned in Mosul or some of the Syrian rebels that the US trained or equipped who decided to call it quits.
November 2, 201510 yr The plane was at 31,000 feet.. out of range for a Stinger. The fuselage shows damage from inside out, like a bomb went off inside the plane.
November 2, 201510 yr I believe I heard it reported yesterday that even the Russians didn't think ISIS had the capability to take the plane down at that altitude from the ground.
November 2, 201510 yr The plane was at 31,000 feet.. out of range for a Stinger. The fuselage shows damage from inside out, like a bomb went off inside the plane. New Stingers have a 5 mile range. 31,000 feet was above sea level, if shot from elevation it may have the range to reach a plane near that height. But it does sound like it was an on board explosion which in all liklihood was caused by ISIS or ISIL
