Boy what a fun game to watch. Both teams should make deep runs.

 

The score may not have showed it but Caldwell won this game.

 

I agree with "Dream" the refs pretty much gave the game to Mayfield all night.

 

Several VERY bad calls against Caldwell!!!!!!!

 

A Touchdown called back on a fantom call. I could go on and on... And not to mention the time had ran out before Mayfield spiked the ball to kick the field goal. They had no time-outs, but the refs put 2 seconds back on the clock and let's them kick a field goal.

 

I don't know for sure but I would bet money the ref that was making all the bad calls was from Mayfield.

 

It's sad when the refs control a game like this.

Bulbutter! There were questionable calls, like there is in every game, against both teams., like the fathom pass interference that allowed Caldwell to keep the ball and kick the go ahead field goal with 28 seconds in the game. Quit your whining, a great game by both schools. I hope Caldwell wins it all, I will definitely pull for them! They have a great team.

Both teams ticked at the Refs and thinking the other got all the calls.

 

Just waiting for an unbiased fan who watched the game to post how they thought it was one of the most fair games they ever witnessed just to really set it off.

Actually the whole crew is from Mayfield. I picked them up and gave them a ride to the game. Best $20 I've ever spent.

Great programs know how to close out games.

Ball is spiked and I turned my head to the clock and it is still running. Of course you would expect that from the home press box... Let it run out and see if the ref calls him out on it. And he did!. Didn't matter if it is .1, 1, or 2. There was no doubt there was time left in that game.

While I feel that Mf was shorted terribly by the refs I do want to give Caldwell all the credit in the world. Certainly a lot better team than I expected and I hope they bring back a state title. All I can say for MF is "MAYFIELD MAGIC", I cant tell you how many times I have watched the Cards Never Say Never and they found a way again. Got to see a few Caldwell posters tonight and it was a pleasure to meet a couple of them for the first time. Also got to eat with them. Good luck Tigers and man they are young, 3A watch out

I thought there were some bad calls but I see bad calls every game. I thought the refs got it right on the pass interference on 4th down that kept CC alive. I thought it was called correct at the end of the game.

 

Good game by both teams , CC had more team speed than I thought and #25 is a stud.

Great win for Mayfield against a great Caldwell team. The Caldwell team, and their fans, deserve kudos. A classic game with the kids on both sides of the line giving everything they have. Best five dollars I ever spent on the ticket.

As to the refs, they were bad. Horrible. But it was both ways. A credit to both teams for playing thru it. The pass interference on 4th down that kept Caldwell's drive alive was correct imo. The ref on the Mayfield sideline missed so many holds, and a horsecollar tackle. There were many other missed calls, both ways. This crew gave Caldwell an extra down once and attempted to do it a second time.

As to the time keeping issues, I have never seen such blatantly bad clock work; it would make the russian timekeeper who stole the basketball gold medal from us that one year blush.

We had an incomplete screen pass that took 9 seconds off the clock, somehow. Then we had 2.8 seconds to spike the ball, the teams were lined up, the refs started the clock, the ball was snapped and spiked, the whistle blown, and then everyone watched 1.7 seconds just run off the clock. The refs missed a lot of calls, but they got that right. Any fair-minded fan of Caldwell would not have wanted to win a game with such a blatant abuse of the clock.

Anyway, a great game at a great venue. Congrats to both teams.

There are several good clock men in Western Ky. but a couple stand out. The best are in basketball. They can steal several minutes during the course of a game and in a 32 minute game that can be the difference.

Yes there were some calls I didn't agree with, not many, but a few. I thought it was a good called game. NEVER been to a game I thought was called perfect!

I will say what I didn't like is this. I don't like PA announcers that try to be play by play announcers at the game. CC had one of the worst.
