And YOUR perception is that an official who lives in mayfield would not be bias, I KNOW this crew, they would go out of their way to not make calls that would cause them to be labeled HOMERS! I go back to my comment, coach Barnes could have stopped them from calling this game if he had wanted to. If mayfield had lost, I would not blame the officials for the calls I PERCIEVED to go against us, I would have blamed the 3 or 4 interceptions we SHOULD have made but but dropped!

 

Why would any official need 'to go out of their way' to not seem like a 'homer'? This is the reason ANY official shouldn't be in a ballgame where they would need to do that. Game was called very fair for both teams. Do no be a sore loser

Mayfield's scores came on two or three big plays too, it don't matter how you score, Caldwell had a td called back and a 60 yard gain nullified by phantom calls, as far as the game being called fairly, well that's debatable, Mayfield was very lucky to get out with a win, very lucky.

This is why I say game was very even

I was at the game. I can name several calls that I would say were borderline that went CC way. I saw a dropped ball that called complete for CC and the pass interference on 4th down was questionable but I thought correct. It gets down to this CC and its fans were really happy till they went into their prevent defense and #1 catches the ball and gets Mayfield into field goal range. 2.8 seconds. of course you can spike the ball in that time, no question. You got beat... it was a heartbreaker.

I observed the whole game and thought they did a great job. Just what are the Caldwell fans upset about. Explain please

If you get on BGP's, I assume your more than a casual fan. You probably know more rules than the average fan and you watch the games more intently . The ref's didn't lose this game for you. CC didn't make the final few plays. The ref's got it correct, 1st down stops the clock, 2.8 seconds is plenty of time to spike the ball and stop the clock.

It was a great game, bad refs or not. Both teams will benefit from this type of game in week 10 because they have patsies next week. Both qbs will improve based on playing in that atmosphere and everyone will be over it in a couple of days. Good luck to both squads!!! If anyone wanted to see two teams slugging it out they should have been in Princeton last night.

I thought you were not allowed to call games for you home school per KHSAA rules? I thought this was not going to happen any since the hiring of a new assignor. In the past it was common for a crew from Mayfield to get all of their home and away games that were competitive. Guess some things do do change as these guys should never be put in a position to be called out as not being fair.

Caldwell's biggest mistake was scoring that touchdown to go up 21-10.

So the refs cheated when it was 4th down and the game was on the line and they called pass interference? And they conspired in the last 37 seconds to cheat CC?

I'm sorry but the refs did not cost Caldwell the game last night! Yes there was some questionable calls last night but there is in every game I've watched. If you are very honest with yourself then you knew there was time left when our QB spiked the ball. You cannot go by what the clock keeper did by running the clock down to zero.

 

So we all know the head ref got that correct. I would like to hear what calls/penalties were beneficial to Mayfield and against Caldwell.
