For instance, NKY has 2 6A districts. Not one single team in either of those districts are further south than boone of Kenton county. The furthest south a 5A team is in NKY is Grant Co. NKY is not Lexington etc.

Maysville is the only one that can be considered NKY.

But here's the thing: Adair is Central time. The entire county (even its far western point) is entirely east of Elizabethtown/Hardin County (and its far eastern point).

 

The WKY parkway starts in E'town.

Then you have Meade (the ONLY eastern time zone school in the 3rd Region). Adair is like an hour EAST of Meade, but using the central time zone as the barrier, Adair would be considered west but NOT Meade (when Adair is further east by far).

If the state was 1000 miles long from north to south then I could see Lexington being considered northern instead of central but when the state is only a couple hundred miles from north to south and Lexington is about in the middle of that distance from NKY then that would fall into central not northern.

Adair County is in 3A District 2 Which plays 3A District 1 for the Region 1 title. 3A District one is Paducah Tilghman's District so if they were to win the district then they would win the West Region now go figure that one out. LOL I agree that they are more east but for some reason KHSAA has them in the Western Region.

Why is Pulaski ranked so high? The combined record of Pulaski's Ky opponents is 9 wins and 35 losses. All of these teams have losing records, save only Henry Clay who is even at 4-4. Pulaski's only loss was against Scott County by a score of 53-31. Highlands -- with their worst team in decades -- lost to Scott 54-28 and they are no where to be found in the rankings. What's the difference? Or is there a huge gap between number 2 and 3 in these rankings.

Highlands had a running clock on them in the 3rd Quarter and made up ground against the Scott County reserves

 

Pulaski played Scott County neck and neck until late in the 4th when Scott County iced it

The center of Lexington is ~72 miles from the Ohio River (Convington) and ~99 miles from Kentucky's southern border. Both of which were measured in Google maps. Using that we find that Lexington is north of 57% of Kentucky (99/171).

 

Given that a perfect north-south center would be 50% I feel comfortable calling Lexington 'Central Kentucky'.

NO ONE is calling Louisville "Northern Kentucky"
