Looking at the AP members that voted there are more WKY voters than EKY. Hence the reason you see a little bit more higher ranked western KY teams.

I do think the top 5 teams in each class are correct maybe not in the correct order but still the right teams are there. I like the BGP rankings better.

Where do you get 8 in western Ky? I see the tables being turned on some of these folks. That east bias has to have it their way. This is the funniest thing I have seen all year.

I dont see any of this being representative of some "bias".. was just counting the regions since someone brought it up. The most interesting thing I see is not a single vote from Northern Kentucky

I don't know... but I lived in Owensboro for several years.....I always considered Owensboro and Bowling Green Western KY....so Russellville, Henderson, Hop-town, Owensboro, Bowling Green, (2) Paducah and Princeton......adds up to 8

I don't know either, but I live in western Ky (Princeton), and I have never considered Russelville, Bowling Green or Owensboro in western Ky and don't think many over this way do. I have always considered that central Ky. If I split it like ATLCat did you have 5 in west, 4 in central, 5 in east, 2 louisville, and 4 in NKY

I think people's views of regions need to find a common ground HAHA

 

Some people consider Pulaski County to be EKY, some don't... to me Bowling Green is definitely Western Kentucky but people from Western kentucky call it Southern Kentucky. The you have WYMT in Hazard confusing everyone with their Mountain Top 5.. and somehow people in EKY suddenly don't consider Ashland (about as East as you can get) as part of EKY. HAHA

 

I always considered everything West of I-65 as Western Kentucky.

 

Every County that touches Jefferson County I always viewed as Louisville Metro (Hardin, Bullitt, Henry, Oldham, Nelson, Shelby, Spencer)

 

Eastern Kentucky I always viewed as everything East of I-75, Along I-64 and South of it and up along the Ohio River in the far North Eastern Corner (Boyd, Greenup, Lewis, Mason, and Fleming Counties)

 

Northern Kentucky I think of the Northern Panhandle along I-75 and I-65 (that does not touch or border Jefferson or Fayette Counties... then areas East of I-75 but North of I-64 to about Fleming and Mason County (Think Kenton, Pendleton, Bracken, Campbell, Harrison Counties)

 

Central KY and Southern KY are the most difficult.. between I-64 East to I-75 is game but where do you differentiate? I always thought if the County touchdes or borders the Cumberland Pkwy connecting Glasgow to Somerset that was Southern KY. The Counties north of there are Central KY.

 

It's tricky because it is such a long state.

Being a former History professor and instructor of Kentucky Geography....I can honestly tell you Bowling Green, Owensboro and Russellville have never been considered part of Central Kentucky......at least not in any of my classes.
