For all the phony haters saying this game was hard to watch... go look out the window with a blanket over your flabby legs for a while.... it was rivalry football. There were defensive stops, some mistakes made and taken advantage of... it was high school football. and it was close to the end... I guess you prefer the days when Highlands and Cov Cath blew Boone and Ryle out of the water 20 seconds into the game???? they weren't too long ago and lasted generations.

Wow! Was out of town for this one and was hoping the lack of phone calls from my CCH brothers was a good sign. Next month will be interesting.

Congratulations to Highlands. Should be an interesting game if these two meet in the playoffs again.

Listened to the game on my drive. Congrats HHS. Cov Cath is snake bit when it comes to HHS.

 

Hope this doesn't run some the wrong way, but wow was that game just dreadful. Is CCH really that bad and what does that say about Beechwood?

What does this have to do with a single A team? It's not like they are going to face either team in the playoffs.

Sounds like a good game from the standpoint of two teams pretty even, in a rivalry game, going at it! I realize that neither of these teams are as good as other years, but there is still time to right the ship and clean things up before playoffs! Congrats to HHS on the win and I hope they get to go at it again next month!

 

I, personally, was hoping for a CovCath win so if they did have a rematch it would have been on Saturday and I would have been able to go watch!

How did Beechwood get into this thread?

So for real who else is there in the region that could contend with Cov Cath and Highlands? There is no JC, Dixie and GC I would say take a back seat to HHS & CCH baring any major injuries. I see Anderson County, Madison Southern, Montgomery County, Woodford County are the teams that form the other side of the region... I know nothing about them besides Highlands destroying Montgomery and Woodford first round a couple years ago (means nothing now). So is Anderson or Mad South any good???

 

Im going to guess they meet again to hammer it out in November to see who goes to Semis

Great question, kind of reminds me of another poster that feels the need to bring Cooper into every thread as well! Ha ha. Keep this thread about HHS/CCH and another chapter added to their yearly battle!!

While I was rooting for the Colonels to end the darn streak there is a tiny part of me that gets that the current senior class was under some pressure - spoken or unspoken - to NOT break the streak.

 

So, as a human, I feel some (SOME) happiness for them to be able to say the streak lives.

I can imagine... there is a small strange part of me that sometimes wishes Cov Cath would win to make the rivalry less one-sided in recent times. Then the large part of me beats up that small part of me. The rivalry is immortal as far as I know. Cov Cath might have a bad record w highlands over the past 10 years but most of the time it is close. I don't know how in all the one touchdown wins in the past 10 years they haven't gotten one in there. It must be seriously maddening for them to be so close for so long and not get a W. keep on your toes birds they are in the shadows. Hey Clyde, who is your team ? just curious.

* Cov Cath probably owns like 80% of the dramatic wins though, which counts for something. The MudBowl might be a top 3 best KY HS football games all time, am I right everyone...? and im on the wrong side of that one. That 200? Male v Trinity state game takes the cake for sure at no. 1.

 

Best all time games would be a good thread.
