SK's defense this year is better at containing. If Morgan throws look for Kincaid to snag a few interceptions.

I have seen them play twice, and could not disagree more. Just my opinion, I'm entitled to that. Carter is a nice player, but to say he's more athletic than Hicks I would have to question. My impression of SK was good D line, good secondary, weakness is speed and athleticism at LB. Will not matter in this game, they win easily which is what this thread was about, I offered my opinion as to why.

Wow! where is everyone?? I thought this was going to be a great thread. Is there a lil doubt now in Union? That's not being mean...just saying that's all we heard about for the first half of the season and they seem to be a little more reserved now.

 

As for the prediction...I think SK wins this game, but I feel it will be close. I also agree with what someone said about the play calling at Ryle. I know Morgan is a talent, but it really seems like they force him into the offense at times. They may or may not be able to run the ball against SK...I don't know. But it sure seems like they force a "balance" at times when it doesn't need to be. I would pound those backs they have all day and throw to keep everyone honest...just enough to not let you stack the box. But it seems like they have it pre-determined how many times they want to run VS. throw.

I realize I won't change your opinion and that is ok with me but I will make one last statement. Production doesn't lie. I can almost agree overall LB speed may be down slightly but Carter is faster than either Deaton or Hicks. Enjoy the Caramel corn I have a bag every week.

I don't know what Ryles stats are but. Racke is 82/128 64% 1047 yards 10 tds and 447 yards rushing 6 tds. Powell has 1208 yards rushing 17 tds and 10 catches 150 yards 1 td. Hampton has 528 yards 11 tds rushing. Vance has 18 catches 297 yards 4 tds. Kreidenweis 19 catches 252 yards 3 tds. Kincaid has 5 ints and the team has 14 ints. Mueller has 6 sacks and the team has 20.5.

SK has a 19 game win streak at home right now!

It's all most like he ( Engler) is trying to prove to past employer that the force out that they used to put him in the position to have to look for a job he is trying very hard to show them that they messed up . As everyone knows he had nothing to do with the development of the stud qbs that left that school and nothing to do with the development of Morgan . But in his defense he's never been a good play caller and doesn't have a lot of help behind him. And Ryle has let a lot of below avg teams stay close due to his ego of pass first , pass second , and then maybe run .. SK is too much as one team will remain undefeated!!!

1. Cooper won the game. Not sure if they play Ryle 10 times, it doesn't come out 5 to 5.

2. Everyone thought Cooper was a fluke after they got beat by Bryan Station 36-0. Everyone has off nights.

3. I like coaches who make teams adjust to what you do both on offense and defense. Tells your players you have confidence in them and your system.

4. Look at the stats in KHSAA, Ryle has been a relatively balanced team this season. Coopers frontlines are the best in NKY from what I have seen as a unit both sides of the ball. Would love to see these two play again!

As you know, I'm not a Ryle fan. But I did say something very similar to this right after I saw them play HHS. I feel like the passing game kinda let HHS stay in the game. My gut says if they would have stuck to the run, HHS had absolutely no answer. There were definitely some calls that had me scratching my head from the Ryle side. At the time, I wrote it off as they are just working on versatility to prepare them for when they do need the passing game. But it appears that is not the case and they have stuck to that strategy. I said early in the year that Ryle wasn't tested and I was very curious to see how they play out during the season. They hadn't played anyone the they couldn't just "bully", so it may have given them a little false expectations. It's not their fault typically strong football programs are down this year, but it still led to some speculation when some of the "not so good teams" were able to hang with them. It was an indication that they may struggle when they see a decent team.

 

With all that said, I still like their team and I think it will be a great game. But if they feel they can make a run, IMO, they have to compete in this game and make it competitive. They don't necessarily have to win, just make it a showdown. I believe they can.

This gentlemen also said their best athlete plays TE and wondered why they didn't use him on defense also where he would be pretty good there also. So why not have England and Chisolm on the field along with Batemen at the same time and use England as a slot receiver or TE and allow the other RB's in the backfield together instead of the platooning of RB's.

I don't know the answer or the dynamics, but I do know if all those athletes were on the field at the same time, that would make them VERY difficult to defend. Who do you key on??? No one! you have to react and then you are constantly reacting to really good athletes every play! And I loved their tight end as well. Very athletic.

 

The one thing I will say...its very easy to be on the other side and critique. But the coaches (during the season) spend more time with these kids than their parents! So you have to hope they are making decisions base on ALL the information they have and making them with the best interest of the team. That doesn't always mean it's the right decision...but I bet if you ask them, they have valid reasons (what they believe 100%) as to why they make the decisions they do.

Ryle can not line up and pound the ball at anyone. The only reason they can run the ball is because of Morgan and his ability to throw the ball.
