Lexington Catholic 31 Boyle County 24

54 to 3 people picking against us was a joke. I said it and you can check back in March that I said JJ was an all state WR. I couldn't stop smiling today because I know that when healthy we are a contender. That was without 2 starters on offense and 2 defense.

Too many people only look at records when determining who the favorite in a game should be.

Lot of work for Boyle to do to make it to a rematch.

Not sure Boyle has enough speed in the secondary. Gonna have to live with what they have cause that is it, but if it's me, I just throw the ball up to #3 everytime and let him make a play.

Never overreact. When we lost to Cooper everyone laughed but if you look at the game you can see they scored 3 of their TDS when the coaches benched the players on secondary to send a message. Are we as good as Madison Central 44-0 nothing, probably no. Are we 28-0 Cooper bad probably no. The coaches won't let this get to them, and I still think LC or BC when will win the whole ☆☆☆☆ thing.

Same here. I'd throw it to him once every 3-4 downs.

I'm concerned about our ability to handle the athleticism of Central. Add in our offensive line worries and confidence on going up to Central and coming away with a victory.

Some stats from the game.

BC

Plays 86 - 421 yards

Rushing 43 - 205 yards 0 TDs (Swanner 29 Carries 177 yards)

Passing 18 - 43 216 yards 2 TDs 2 INTS

First Downs 23

3rd Down Conv. 3/14

4th Down Conv. 4/7

Penalties 9 - 80 yards

Red Zones 5-5

Lex. Cath.

Plays 55 - 408 yards

Rushing 31 - 127 0 TDs

Passing 17 - 24 281 yards 4TDs 1 int

First Downs 12

3rd Down Conv. 1/7

4th Down Conv. 0-4

Penalties 6 - 65 yards

Cath. played a better game tonight and they deserved the win Congrads to them. Boyle just hurt there self with drop passes (lots of them that could have went for yardage) and Penalties at the wrong times. Catholic also had some Penalties at bad times also but Boyle seem to hurt them more. Catholic had some good runs but did not really hurt Boyle with that, it was the big passing plays that hurt (#3). Hope that these two teams meet again.

If Boyle County can't contain the speed of Lexington Catholic then it could be a long night against Central. Praying for a rainy night. :lol2:

What a CLASSIC we had tonight!

Central is fast, but people underestimate how strong and physical they play, especially on defense. I would probably pick Boyle over Central, but that will be a GREAT game.

Josiah didn't play his best game tonight, but a lot of that had to do with Catholic. Gotta give some love to Catholic defense, they been bashed all year, but they came to play tonight. BC had way too many dropped passes, If I was Boyle, Max Cox and Nick Roney has got to get more touches. BC will play Catholic again, no doubt. BC better make some secondary adjustments because ALL catholics receivers can Fly.

More disappointed with each passing minute. LexCath was the better team tonight without a doubt. I wish we would have played better but that credit goes to LexCath for making all night difficult. I just really hate losing to LexCath. Burns my soul. :lol2:

LexCath, Danville and Lincoln County. Anyone else can beat us but let us lose to one of those three schools and my weekend is ruined. :lol2:

Damnit.......

Rain, snow, sleet and hail. :lol2:

If Boyle County's quarterback can't throw better than he did last night and the receivers catch the ball better, Boyle's season is down the drain. They will have anather shot at Catholic (at Catholic) but their play will have to improve on the line of scrimmage and at quarterback and receiver to win that game. Also, why all of the squib kicks, I'm sure there is a reason but I can't figure that out.

The squib kicks are because of JJ Ogbagu & Andy Thompson create a lot of problems to a kickoff unit.

I wish Boyle County fans would be a little more positive. They can take this game and say if they catch a few more balls then they don't settle for field goals. I was a little surprised at what I saw from the Boyle rushing attack. That's key for them heading into November.

And finally no one will remember what took place in October, it's all about postseason success.

I am encouraged even though we lost, because we (Boyle) see what we need to work on. Everything we did bad can be fixed. First Robbins turned both ankles earlier and hobbled the entire game. Effects your ability to run, set your feet to throw etc. The Knights and Rebels pose problems for the rest of 3a period because of their offenses. Boyle definitely needs another strategy on kick offs. Also Boyles running game is better than Catholics. Swanner runs harder than Jones. I predict Boyle will beat Central, run heavy teams will not beat Boyle County. Boyles fans travel great so away venues are not as big of a deal. There will be a rematch and Robbins will be playing Corner. Lex had trouble moving the bal, had 4 big plays. Boyle did not have trouble moving the ball just too many field Goals. However, it was good to see a kid who has only played football one year do so well. Do not count Boyle out, they are hungry and senior heavy, Josiah will be healthy and not play mediocre again this year. BOYLE WILL BE THERE IN THE END. They got beat by 7 on a mediocre performance at best. Finally, the teams we have been routing has lulled us to sleep a little and has not taught us much about ourselves, sometimes failure can be our greatest teacher.
