Beechwood uses that play?

they did last year in the All A region championship. Had runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the 7th i believe. Kid on first takes off in to right field causing the pitcher to turn really quick and balk...ball game Beechwood wins.

:lol: so be it...but they still won. Bob is the kind of guy that will try to use anything to his advantage. Some may consider that Bush. others may consider it genius. Guess it depends whether your for or against the team doing it.

It's actually lack of preparation by the coaching staff. Regardless of where the base runner goes the pitcher should know to step off first, than run at him. Not bush IMO but if you're looking for something to harp on...so be it.

Congrats to Beechwood on continuing... Go win it! And congrats to Harrison on a great year...

I also want to say congrats to Soph Cody Elliott, who was the MVP, and got out of the biggest jam ever in the 1st game. Like stickymitts said yesterday, Bot of the 7th tied game, with bases loaded and a 3-0 count, Cody comes back to strike out the batter, and with 2 outs got the next one to fly out to right, and the Tigers go on to win the game. A well deserved MVP for him...:dancingpa

It's funny how it's bush for one coach to use trick plays or try to get a mental edge on the other team and for other coaches, it's not. You guys kill me sometimes! :irked:

Not to stur the pot, or sound like a sore winner, but I would like to know why HC's coach threw the ball on the field right before Curley pitched the ball...:confused:

 

Isn't this the same head coach that walks between the pitcher and catcher during the pitcher's warmup throws?

Let's compare situations and see what everyone thinks.

 

1) Pitcher is getting ready to throw a pitch to the batter. 3rd base coach throws two balls in between the pitcher and catcher. No time has been called, batter is in the box, ball is in play. A mental edge is one thing but that's ridiculous.

 

2) Runner's on first and third.(Notice this one actually pertains to the game of baseball ) Runner on first takes off, towards second...right field...doesn't matter. Pitcher balks because he's confused. It's within the rules and is a play that most coaches prepare their teams to defend.

 

Some Harrison Co. fans are a bit out of touch with reality. If I remember correctly I argued with some earlier this year that Krumbelbeck and Myerhoff are two of the better coaches in NKY and maybe the state. I was told Mac was SOOO much better because he does more with less talent. HOWEVER, I walk in to Harrison Co's field and see four signs of kids who have been drafted and all within an 8-10 year period. In that same period is when Mac won his state championships. Irony is such a funny thing.
