Why were the Baseballs, tossed onto the field is my question.

 

Rolled between the pitcher and home plate. I'd say 15 ft in front of the mound. Curley was getting ready to step back and start his motion. He stepped off and looked at Whitaker like, "What are you doing?" The umpires didn't say a word...

Isn't this the same head coach that walks between the pitcher and catcher during the pitcher's warmup throws?

I dont any idea when, and where you saw that, but I have not...So I will say no, that is not the same coach.

I thought this was coming.

 

Let's compare situations and see what everyone thinks.

 

1) Pitcher is getting ready to throw a pitch to the batter. 3rd base coach throws two balls in between the pitcher and catcher. No time has been called, batter is in the box, ball is in play. A mental edge is one thing but that's ridiculous.

 

2) Runner's on first and third.(Notice this one actually pertains to the game of baseball ) Runner on first takes off, towards second...right field...doesn't matter. Pitcher balks because he's confused. It's within the rules and is a play that most coaches prepare their teams to defend.

 

Some Harrison Co. fans are a bit out of touch with reality. If I remember correctly I argued with some earlier this year that Krumbelbeck and Myerhoff are two of the better coaches in NKY and maybe the state. I was told Mac was SOOO much better because he does more with less talent. HOWEVER, I walk in to Harrison Co's field and see four signs of kids who have been drafted and all within an 8-10 year period. In that same period is when Mac won his state championships. Irony is such a funny thing.

Should have been warned and in my opinion, "gamesmanship" crossed the line when they were tossed onto the field.

One was a HR ball and the other was a foul ball that had been returned to the field to the Beechwood dugout side. The game balls are kept in the Harrison dugout, so when they tossed the baseball's to the Coach he threw them where they were supposed to go.

 

And don't even talk about a pitch about to be made and that being disruptive. That was not near as bad as your coach being on the field pushing on the umpire when he was disputing a call and the umps letting your runner advance. Not that he shoved the ump, because he didn't, but he was on the field and he did make contact with the umpire, and no runners should have been able to advance. (But they did)

 

Get over it Beechwood, you won the games, you had the better team, and you deserved the win. I have never seen a bunch whine so much after a win. Grow up and move on. Good luck at Applebee's next week. You all have a legitimate shot at bringing home the State Championship.

You can try to twist it any way you want, but it showed zero class.

Just to clarify a few things for you HT2005....I'm not with Beechwood and wasn't even at the game, just asking a question.

 

If a coach, throws Baseballs onto the field, during when the play is "Live", it's certainly not where they were supposed to go....:thumb:

Bob was just arguing the call with the ump (which he has every right to do) and it is the umpire job to call time-out if he is in a discussion with the coach, not the other way around. And it was a heads up play by Chas Moore to go.

I talked to the coaches after the game and they didn't make a big deal about Mac. They, like most of us, have come to expect that crap from him.

 

First of all, "pushing the umpire" COME ON! That gets you tossed, fined and kicked out of baseball. Nice try though. Second, I'm 1000% sure that time was not called when the runner went to third (umps fault) and 10000% sure that time was not called when Mac was in the middle of the field arguing and Beechwood's guy on first was going to take second.

One more thing. If the third base umpire doesn't allow the SS to push Sawyer off of third that play never happens. HC got an out when they shouldn't have so they didn't really have a complaint.

I thought this was coming.

Reality?!

Here is a list of the players that have been drafted from Harrison Co. and the # of state titles they won.

1. Chris Snopek- 0 state titles

2. Shon Walker (Mr. Baseball)- 0 state titles

3. Jody Crump- 0 state titles

4. Brad Allison- 0 state titles

5. Noochie Varner- 2 state titles, one as a junior one as a senior.

That's a lot of talent and not very many state titles. That's why people say Coach Whitaker gets it done with "spotty" talent.
