Can you? And if so can you do it well.

We do jump rope exercises for basketball practice sometimes, started that a few years ago, and used to do it when I was playing. I used to also jump rope for exercise as an adul not all that long ago. Can still do it now with my hip replacement, and do it better than most adults and most of the kids too.

I find it surprising how many kids CAN'T do it...and some that can, they don't do it very well.

So...can you?

I can do it fine, but I've never learned how to do any of the "fancy" kinds, like crossing your arms.

Yeah, I never could do the real fancy stuff either...just straight jumping...fast...could do a 3 turn skip on one jump, that was pretty tough...would probably kill myself trying to do that now.

Same

My junior year in high school, I threw the shot put for track. Our coach knew nothing about it, gave me a shot put, and that is the most he ever worked with me. So, to keep from being bored out of my mind, I would throw some then walk a trail through the hills to the top of the hill behind our school and/or jump rope. I was actually pretty good at jumping rope. It did tend to bother my knees when I did it a lot but I weighed 285. I haven't tried it since.

Remember doing it in 7th grade for freshman basketball practice. Back then 7th, 8th and 9th played freshman basketball (no 7th & 8th grade b-ball).

Absolutely can jump rope. Can't go fancy, but I can more than hold my own.

Yep. 100 jumps to warm up for basketball, everyday.

My high school wrestling coach used to make us jump rope all the time I got real good at it.

Couldn't do it past the most basic skip back in the day.

If I tried now I would have an EMT on standby.

As an aside, when I was a kid back in the early 1960s, a neighbor had a pogo stick. I stunk at that, too.

I took a PE class in college and was able to cross frontwards and backwards and, if I might say, was decent at it. Now, that is distant and dim memory.

I can do it and I would say pretty well. I've actually had people I've worked out with compliment me on my jump roping abilities so that's what I'm basing that off of.

Used to be OK but haven't done it in a while - could do some fancy things like cross hands. Coach Shields back in the day wanted guys at practice sitting out during scrimmages to jump rope instead of just standing on the sideline to keep cardio up...hated it:)
