October 2, 201511 yr I won't vouch for accuracy. I'll let others decide how accurate it is or isn't. This link shows a calendar. Each day of the week has a number listed. The number represents the # of shootings that day that had at least 4 victims including the shooter. The number of days that occurred is shown to be 294 in 274 days. Shooting in Oregon: So far in 2015, we?ve had 274 days and 294 mass shootings - The Washington Post Even if that number is twice as high as it really is it's staggering to comprehend.

October 2, 201511 yr The gun control debate in this country is over. It was over after Sandy Hook. The gun control advocates lost.
October 2, 201511 yr I wonder how many like today in Oregon and how many were party to another criminal offense? Example: robbery, retaliation, drug deals or some other crime
October 2, 201511 yr Hard to discuss mass shootings when most multiple shooting occurrences are between criminals. So the chart is silly.

October 2, 201511 yr Author Obama is also the best gun salesperson ever' date=' whether he knows it or not.[/quote'] You mean the morons that believe he will take all guns away?
October 2, 201511 yr Author Hard to discuss mass shootings when most multiple shooting occurrences are between criminals. So the chart is silly. Between criminals as in drug buys?
October 2, 201511 yr The gun control debate in this country is over. It was over after Sandy Hook. The gun control advocates lost. It was over a long time before that, I'm afraid. Firearms have achieved a quasi-religious sanctity in this country.
October 2, 201511 yr Author What is it about the U.S. that causes us to have so many people who have mental health issues? Does Australia not have mental health problems?
October 2, 201511 yr What is it about the U.S. that causes us to have so many people who have mental health issues? Does Australia not have mental health problems? I wouldn't know where to start. The lack of available treatment is a major problem, the values in this country that have dramatically changed in the last 3 decades, sex and violence also sell in this country like they never have before. Gone are the "the good ole days" today families rarely eat dinner as a family. We're a very isolated, violence driven country.
October 2, 201511 yr What is it about the U.S. that causes us to have so many people who have mental health issues? Does Australia not have mental health problems? What kind of gun control do they have over there?
October 2, 201511 yr What kind of gun control do they have over there? I think they have fairly strict gun control. I've also read that violent crime and gun crimes increased after the ban.
October 2, 201511 yr I think they have fairly strict gun control. I've also read that violent crime and gun crimes increased after the ban. In the 18 years before the Port Arthur attack and passage of the NFA, Australians endured 13 mass shootings, claiming 112 lives. In the years following the bans and buybacks, firearm-related deaths plummeted, and mass shootings became largely a thing of the past. In 2012, the Guardian published new statistics drawnfrom the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime andSmall Arms Survey showing only "30 homicides by firearm" annually in Australia, or "0.14 per 100,000 population." The U.S. statistics are bloated by comparison. Over the same period, Americans suffered "9,146 homicides by firearm," at a rate of 2.97 for every 100,000 people. Sixty percent of murders in the U.S. are committed with a gun, according to the Guardian, compared to 11.5% in Australia.
