Lose games and lose your job. You play the best guys. Heck, some schools even play the better guy if they are (accused) thieves and rapists just to win games to keep their jobs. No way does a coach play a guy that's not their top guy unless they have a severe discipline issue.

I don't think anyone is saying that Drew is clearly better than Towles. People are saying let's see what he's got. The coaching staff has a year and a half invested in Towles running this offense. To make the move from Towles to Barker I think Drew has to prove to be clearly better than Towles and it's clear that separation hasn't taken place yet. Once the move is made from Towles to Drew then Towles will likely be holding the clipboard the rest of his UK career.

 

I also think the entire team isn't behind Towles like some say. The "entire team" of what 80 something players and double digit coaches? Surely there are some #teamBarker folks on there.

Type Patrick Towles into google and hit search. The people on the team who matter, support him. Again though, if he stinks vs Mizzu then I'd talk to Barker.

I think Drew will do really well when he gets reps. I think he does some things better than PT. Stoops and Dawson have said that. PT does some things better than Drew.

 

PT was named the starter which was not a surprise to anyone.

I said something like this before. I do not have to root against PT for me to root for DB. In fact, I am rooting for and pulling for PT, I want him to have all the success he wants.

 

I posted about this earlier in this thread, I do not think the OC is taking advantage of PT's strengths.

 

Barker's time will come and I hope that he is prepared and has all the success he wishes for on and off the field. And, you better believe I will be rooting him on too!
