September 21, 201511 yr How about the one that a 1-game suspension for causing a campus lockdown was appropriate? Agreed, most students would be in jail, and permanently removed from campus.
September 21, 201511 yr How is it stretching? Was he ever charged with anything? Why are you asking me ? You've got all of the answers. You should know.
September 21, 201511 yr Agreed, most students would be in jail, and permanently removed from campus. Disagree about the jail aspect of it, but yes 100% agree that if they were just regular students the discipline would've been MUCH more severe.

September 21, 201511 yr How about the one that a 1-game suspension for causing a campus lockdown was appropriate? I was fine with that.
September 21, 201511 yr Disagree about the jail aspect of it, but yes 100% agree that if they were just regular students the discipline would've been MUCH more severe. At UK this is a false statement. At least when I was a student there this is a false statement.
September 21, 201511 yr At UK this is a false statement. At least when I was a student there this is a false statement. You or someone you know put the campus on lockdown, and basically received no punishment from the university?
September 21, 201511 yr The difference between Barker and Towles. Towles has won big games Barker hasn't! What?
September 21, 201511 yr You or someone you know put the campus on lockdown, and basically received no punishment from the university? Nope. Not putting it on lockdown. But in my experiences UK has proven to be pretty lenient to all students and not just athletes. And yes I do know this from experience from being caught on campus and breaking the law as a non-athlete. How do you know Barker and the rest didn't receive punishment from the university? You can receive punishment without being dismissed from school.
September 21, 201511 yr How about the one that a 1-game suspension for causing a campus lockdown was appropriate? Here's the first post I made before the suspension was handed down. My take is simple: Stupid decision by Drew (which I told him). He is embarrassed. He will pay the price and will have to work hard to restore his reputation. His dad fully supports Stoops' decision. I am not kicking a kid out of school over a BB gun. Here was the next response: Agreed. It is a big deal to cause a campus to go to lockdown. UK reacted appropriately and as every parent would want. I'd be fine with more games. I'm just not kicking a kid out of school over it. I'd say the same if it was Zeke Pike's first offense. Hardly outlandish or compromised.

You can receive punishment without being dismissed from school. Do I know for a fact they didn't? Nope. However, when's the last time an athlete was suspended from school and it didn't come out? And, from my perspective putting an entire university on lockdown is much more serious of an offense than what I'm assuming you're referencing in regards to your time there.
September 21, 201511 yr You guys opinions are fine and, frankly, irrelevant. I just want them to be based upon fact.
September 21, 201511 yr You guys opinions are fine and' date=' frankly, irrelevant. I just want them to be based upon fact.[/quote'] Where I'm confused is how some are going after Kelly and supporting Barker.
September 21, 201511 yr Where I'm confused is how some are going after Kelly and supporting Barker. Because there's no comparison. An airsoft gun incident playing a stupid game pales to threatening to go to your truck and get an AK47 and then fighting police when they arrested you. But you saying they are analogous is 100% consistent with your approach.

So I guess he restored his reputation by going to a bar underage, where it just so happened an altercation broke out. Then went to another university's dorms, where another altercation broke out.
