Time for Barker. Please

You 3 keep putting make up on Barker, the rest of us will go with Stoops and Dawson's opinion, the ones who get paid to make the decisions.

Agree, Towles needs to be a threat to run, would open up the offense.

We have a bingo!

The difference between you and them is that they aren't saying that Drew isn't starting because of his character. Folks ask a question about who should be starting at UK and then you and the Drew Barker hate club attack his character and give us all an opinionated rundown of Drew the person. Like any of that makes a difference in his ability to be the starting UK QB. Just say you hate him and you hope he fails in life. It's pretty clear that's the feeling about Barker that some of you seem to harbor for whatever reason. Looking up people to call to see if he turned down OSU? You're that concerned with Drew Barker's life? Seriously? :lol2:

I said he wasn't ready and that he has questionable character. Obviously, you don't get sarcasm, or realize I have all the OSU coaches in my phone. For the record Tom wanted Stephen Collier more.

Secondly, all the internet mouths on here should call Stoops or Dawson out publicly on their various public platforms, instead of posting on a board if they think it should be Barker, have some guts.

Anthony, keep stroking your ego buddy. If you really do have all the OSU coaches numbers in your phone, then it is sad how little you know about both football and life. I'm sure when you made wrong decisions in your past, grown men didn't attack you from behind a fake name on a blog. Quit throwing stones in a glass house. You do not know Drew Barker personally, that is obvious. All of your hear-say evidence is moot. It simply doesn't matter because 99% of it is simply untrue. If I were Clyde, I wouldn't even waste my time arguing with you. You obviously have nothing better to do than bash a 19 year old kid with a TON of football ability.

Lastly, I have watched more of Drew Barker in a collegiate uniform (both practice and games) than probably most on here. Let me tell you, there is a reason he was a four star recruit and had 15 plus division one offers. He can play at and deserves to play at this level. Your opinion that Drew is only a better runner than Towles is also incorrect and again shows just how little you know about Drew.

So, I hope the fact that you have "all the OSU coaches in your phone" helps you sleep well at night because from the looks of your idiotic posts, that's about all you have.

Give me Stoops' personal number and I'll call him right now and record it to YouTube.

If you look and read what I have posted. I have no problem with what the coaches have decided. If they think PT is the best option and the better of the two at this point, fine with me. I even went as far to say that I do not want Stoops to be wishy washy about the issue. I want him to say PT is "our guy." If he wants to say DB may get in sometimes just to get his feet wet, I think that is ok, as long as he follows it up with emphasizing that PT is "our guy!" I can also understand if he doesn't want to bring him in to get his feet wet because it could be taken the wrong way by PT.

I don't need to post it or call them out publicly that I think Barker should be playing because I have not said that. I asked them in person at practice last Tuesday on how Drew was doing....and how PT was doing...and Reese was doing....and Mosier was doing....

For you UKFan, I did not see Reese throw one ball against any defense, only on air and at targets.

The best part of my conversation with Stoops was talking about Westry. His athletic ability is amazing, like a total freak on the field!

I am not trying to brag about going to their practices, just giving some perspective.

So, if I change my mind and have a question of why one player should play over the other and I can't get past the idea that the coach is wrong, I will ask them when I see them in the proper setting.

Give me Stoops' personal number and I'll call him right now and record it to YouTube.

And I will send the YouTube link to your boy in Dallas!

According to the Rivals:

Barker was a 4 star with offers from Kentucky, Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, La Laffeyette, Miami Fl, Ole Miss, UNC, Purdue, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Western KY. He was the 5th ranked Pro Style QB in his class.

Towles was also a 4 star with offers from Kentucky, Arkansas, Cincinnati, Louisville and Vanderbilt. He was the 9th ranked Pro Style QB in his class.

Both Kentucky boys and both highly recruited QB's with impressive abilities and talents. I'll take either one leading my team, especially over some of the QB's of the past such as Morgan Newton and Jalen Whitlow. Right now I like Towles experience in big games and his fire. He loves UK and I wouldn't replace him at this point. He has won on the road at South Carolina and nearly knocked of Florida in the swamp last year. I'd love to see Towels finish out this year and next as the starter. That puts Barker as the starter his Junior and Senior years with lots of experience with reps in practice and a great knowledge of the playbook. At least we aren't discussing playing a WR at QB (Matt Roark) even though he did knock of UT.

Also I want to add I love UK with a strong passion and I hate to see the program in a negative spotlight, however that takes nothing away from Drew Barkers talent. All kids make mistakes, I'd take Winston and Manziel leading my college team all day everyday. I don't know if Barker is on that level but the point is I want him on my team regardless of what he's done off the gridiron. He seems to be a good kid and that's in the past. The kid could be playing at many other programs and starting, instead he learning behind another very talented QB in Towels. I think both QB's are actually very similar in what they bring to the team. Right now I like Towels leadership and I think part of his struggles are because of the tempo on offense, he can't find a rythym. The team has playmakers let's see some of that air raid we've been hearing about now for the last few years. Get Boom more involved in the passing game as well.

Both were part of ESPN's Elite 11 as well. I knew about Barker but I forgot that Towels was a part of it in his class.

Recruiting rankings don't always mean much I understand that. Heck just look at Morgan Newton who I already mentioned. He was very highly thought of and was horrible.

Wow. I'd honestly forgotten about him.

I remeber watching him on ESPN U and being so excited that he was going to UK. If I'm not mistaken he looked horrible that day and his UK career was more of the same. He held offers from Clemson, Florida, Miami FL and South Carolina. At the time it was UK's best class in history. It also included 4* QB Ryan Mossakowski.

Newton was part of the ESPN 150 and the 7th best QB prospect by Scout. I'm pretty sure he's the highest touted QB recruit to commit to UK, I know some had him as a 5 star. It's a shame he didn't pan out especially after a promising end to his freshman season where he led UK to a bowl game after Hartline went down.

To all of the arm chair quarterbacks that have posted so far, don't you think that if Barker was the better option they would have gone with him? There is a reason that PT is the starter, and from the sounds of things it isn't going to change this week. I am not bashing DB, I am sure he is talented as can be. But don't think that Stoops and company do not know who gives them the best chance of winning.
