Towles isn't making a lot of plays. But really it's not his fault. When u get sacked 6 times an knock down or hurried 10-15 times. O-line needs to step up. Barker or towles. Would be the same outcome if line plays that way

I disagree, I watched it with a head referee buddy of mine, he has reffed some NFL games... he disagrees, he feels in the act of the ball was catch-able, and the Corner pushed off to make an attempt at the catch......

The paper o-line and especially the left tackle are horrific. The dropped passes and the passes that are tipped by the receiver for interceptions, after all, if it hits the receivers hands it should be caught. PT isn't the fastest on the team but does have some speed for his size. They never run a bootleg or QB draw, why not? Does UK even have a pass receiving TE? As for the sacks, PT doesn't have the time in the pocket to go through his check downs on the receivers and then does not have time to scramble. Offensive plays are very vanilla.

UK passed on first down 8 times. On one play they gained 40+ yards. The other 7 netted -40.

Everyone is trashing Towles. Joe Montana wouldn't be a star at Kentucky right now because no QB can be accurate when the entire defensive line is grabbing his legs as soon as he touches the ball. Drew Barker would be the same or (most likely) even worse.

Gators have suspended backup QB Treon Harris for a failed drug test and starting DB Tabor for refusing to take the test.

Lots of blame out there, O-line, OC, PT, blah blah blah. UK is always full of excuses and finger pointing. All have to do their job better. When Patrick has time to throw he needs to be alot more accurate, put his head down and run some more, step up in the pocket. Offensive line, should use more TE, and RB to help them they are awful, OC seemed to be shocked at how good Florida's D -line was, I think it caught him off guard, WR's have to catch balls that hit their hands and chest. Woooh got in all in there. With that being said Missouri's defense is arguably better than Florida, have a hard time seeing UK winning Saturday. Then Sunday as you said Deuce they can hit repeat/rinse button

I would put biggest complain on adjustments by OC. If #14 is killing me then at half time I am using a TE on that side and a RB, no attempt at adding pass protection. How about a screen to that side? Stoops has given all control to Dawson, read his lips on the 4th down call, "you got this"? They did get the 4th down conversion when they brought big boy in the game, why not use him more? How about a QB keep of the handoff to Boo? Just saying more blame should be on them, they did come out in the paper and say that right.....

UK just needs to beat Missouri and they are 3-1.

 

They will beat EKU and have a legitimate shot at Auburn. They also have a legitimate chance at beating Tennessee.

 

They SHOULD close out the season with 3 consecutive wins.

 

That leaves them anywhere from 6 to 8 wins and a bowl game.

 

As a lifelong UK fan who has witnessed everything from passing for 17 yards vs. South Carolina to losing to Florida 29 consecutive times...I take that and celebrate like it's 1999.

 

Stop freaking out. Could UK have beaten Florida? Absolutely. Did they? No. Move on and strive for the goal of making a bowl game and holding the recruiting class together. Those are building blocks for the future.

I am still trying to ask... was that not pass interferance at the end of the game when they threw the hail mary to Timmons? The DB pushed Timmons in the chest, clearly, knocking Timmons down to the ground, not being able to even go for the ball, Interception..

 

The ball was in the air...the push in the chest prevented Timmons from making a play on the ball. Sounds and looked like PI to me.

I'm not saying that at all. Two of the biggest plays of the game were made by PT. The long pass play happened due to a good job of blocking on that particular play by the o-line. PT put the ball right on the money because he had time in the pocket.

 

The long run (33 yards) was made by PT because he was forced to scramble and running for his life. The QB always gets blamed for losses, but the finger pointing should be equally distributed among the team.

And they are 2-1 instead of 1-2 or 0-3. UK fans should take any win they can get and hope for a bowl game. That's where the program is right now but it's trending up.
