SK is going for one thing and that is a 6A state title!

Y'know, your posts can be aggravating but I do respect that spirit. To look at the top of the mountain and declare 'that will ours' instead of 'we have no chance'.

Either way it was 6 points.

There you go, DoubleDeuce.

To me it looks like he is told who to throw it to and if that person is not open, he is kind of on his own. Doesn't appear to be a lot of certainty in his progression, if there is one.

In his defense, didn't seem like he had much time at all. It is hard to get comfortable when they come at you from all different angles and are relentlessly pursuing you everywhere.

Yes, he does have a strong arm. If he just had a little more swagger or confidence he would be even better and quicker on his decisions. I like him on roll outs, there you can have one read, if it's not there turn it on because he can fly.

Lots of potential and isn't this his first time playing Qb?

I would like to see a little better route combinations with more options to throw to. Didn't see much to Tight End or back out of the backfield. More time to throw would help him as you said, but last night he even missed on some of those. When he has his swagger, he can be in a zone. Hopefully he studies the film and sees his opportunities. I think he has done OK with this being only his 5th game at that position.

Looking through the prediction thread a lot of the level headed true football knowledgable folks did not predict a blowout. But there were a handful that did besides UK#1fan. Several predicting 4td and more difference. One even swearing SK would score at least 7 TD's and that wasn't even UKFan.

SK defense played tough tonight they had Cooper on one drive 4th and 40.

I know you will never realize this but that had nothing to do with SK D and was just a terrible snap by the Cooper center.

In the end, I can walk away from this game happy. Sad about the loss, obviously, but the Jags played pretty well. They have to play a better football game. Some costly penalties, not capitalizing before half on the 1 yard line really hurt. The Jags were down 20-7 at in the 3rd quarter. Then Hendrix drops a pick that would have been a TD. I know it is an if statement and doesn't matter but if the Jags score before half then that would be a 21-20 game and a change in momentum. Would have loved to have seen this game with TCA in the backfield.

In the end, SK had a pretty solid game plan and played a more clean game than Cooper did. Both teams played very hard, but have a lot of improving to do. I have a feeling these two teams might see each other again. Congratulations to SK on the win and improving to 5-0. Good job by Cooper on battling and making it a little closer than the score shows. Both of these teams should learn from this game and feel pretty good about the performance.

I do not think it was that close of a game. So for me the answer is no.

I am a little biased and disagree, but I would like to hear your reasoning behind that?

I think it was closer than the score showed. Two plays were the difference in this game for Cooper. A score before half time, and the pick 6 dropped and Cooper would have been winning. I know SK had some plays not go there way as well but I thought the game was pretty competitive with the exception of 1 quarter.

Were we watching the same game?? Ha ha. There were plenty of drop backs where he had a lot of time. The pass blocking was overall pretty good last night for Cooper. The one thing that makes it look a little worse is that Brown is still working on stepping up in the pocket and trusting his protection. With his athletic ability, he is quick to try and bail out of the pocket. But overall I thought his protection was above average.

I agree... It is interesting how people can see the game differently from different sidelines. I also agree that the Cooper QB was off his game tonight. I was sitting with his dad and we both felt he had a lot more time in the pocket this game but wasn't making good decisions. A number of times he had 6-7 seconds of protection but held onto the ball. Either the line was doing something different or just a weaker pass rush seen than in past weeks but the QB wasn't able to take advantage of it.

I don't think Coach Borchers values the TE position much. They converted a 6'3 240lb Jr tight end to tackle this year. Big kid with good hands that's in 3 way rotation at tackle. I believe he did the same the year they went to state.

Cooper essentially had zero offense except for two plays. The pass to Hedrix and the TD pass.

SK had first and goal from inside the five and had zero points to show for it...to Coopers credit but the did miss the field goals.

Do this. Say "go" and then count out 7 seconds.

No way a QB against SK or almost any team had 7 seconds.

I am curious to find out the stats for the game.

Really??? Don't be childish and be realistic. Yes, on several occasions he had 7+++ seconds to throw and held onto the ball. SK defense may be good but they aren't the second coming of the steel curtain either.
