I think you have a good argument that Pulaski should have been ranked above Bowling Green to start the season. Once Pulaski lost by more than 3 TD's to Scott County, they should have dropped below BG. Now, with both teams having a lopsided loss, you have to look at other games. That is where I believe the Owensboro win pushes BG over Pulaski County. Looking at the schedules, if BG keeps winning they are going to stay ahead of Pulaski. Pulaski doesn't have any top shelf opponent left to play that would give them a signature win and push them past BG.

 

You should just admit that you didn't see the Scott County / Pulaski game. That was a 1 score game late in the 4th. To add to that, BG's remaining schedule is no better than Pulaski's.

Here is food for thought and I know middle school games don't mean much,but when this years seniors played each other in eight grade Pulaski beat BG 36-0 and 2 years ago in state I believe PC was ahead before Riley got hurt just fueling the fire I think it is a coin toss for #1ranking I believe they will play at WKU to decide

As a matter of fact PC still plays #3249 and #3108 in maxpreps while BG still plays #883 ,#1634 ,#3604 and #3555 .

The schedule up to this point in maxpreps is BG 28.2 and PC 7.8, the Purples have played tougher teams up to now and will continue to play tougher teams the remainder of the year. I will boldly say that if BG wins out with a 9-1 record that they will remain #1 and then will win the 5A tournament as well. If BG beats McCracken the Maroons need to be concerned.

It doesn't matter to me if Purples are ranked #2 or #10 . If BG gets in playoffs and survives each week and gets to the finals against Pulaski County (which I hope Pulaski will be there), I'll take my chances with the Purples. By a lot!

And BG had the ball with 9:08 remaining and the score 31-19 after scoring 2TDs unanswered so whats your point?

Either way, I'm loving 5A this year. I think it's one of the better classes this year.

I didn't see the game. I know what happened. I know Scott County was in control the entire game. I know Scott County had over 650 yards offense.Good job by Pulaski getting that field goal in the 4th to get it within 8 but the final score was a more than three touchdown margin.

 

Pulaski very well could be better than Bowling Green. Based on what has happened this year though, all three of Bowling Green wins are over better opponents than the two wins Pulaski County has. Bowling Green's strength of schedule is significantly better than Pulaski County's and that outweighs style points in each of their losses.

Either way, I'm loving 5A this year. I think it's one of the better classes this year.

 

Agree and it is a real shame Cooper isn't in 5A this year where they would have a chance.

I didn't say that at all. I never said they would win a ring this year at all. I am of the belief that no NKY school, including SK, will win a 6A title.

 

Also as far as Cooper winning 5A this year, they would have to go through Pulaski again who beat them last year 33-7 and returned everybody. That on top of everyone saying BG is even better so I don't think it's any closer to winning 5A this year as it is for them to win 6A.
