CCH left runners and 2nd and 3rd in the 7th. Diehl gets a looking K to end the game.

Wow! Didn't see that one coming. Congrats to NCC.

The NCC Home Run (which was a no doubter) that was hit in their half of the sixth inning, was the blow that killed CovCath chances. Stephens for CovCath just threw too many pitches, and NCC constantly had runners on the bases, in almost every inning, but Stephens was able to pitch himself out of it, except for NCC first run in the third... CovCath was constantly late on Diehl pitchers and the ump was giving both pitchers a wide strike zone (no complaint at all, just making a statement). As cshs81 reported CovCath had runners on 2nd and 3rd with two outs when their batter took a called third strike to end the game. Junior Shane Pophan proved to many why he was picked as the Northern Kentucky top third baseman in AA as he was the only Colonel who seemed to have Diehl pitches timed as he went 2-3.

 

Congrats to NCC and especially Sam Diehl of NCC. Good luck Thoroughbreds and have fun playing at Champion Window Field against I can only assume Ryle....

Diehl is an excellent pitcher, had a perfect game going for over half the game against (probably) the deepest lineup in NKY. Congrats to NCC and best of luck in the rest of the season.

Jared Harris had an RBI single in the 3rd and Chris Weir hit the no doubter home run late in the game. Sam Diehl pitched one of the greatest games of his life versus a great hitting team. NCC has been on fire and CCHS had been struggling. Great clean game by both teams, very few errors. It seems CCHS realized that this could be their last game of the season a little too late as they almost pulled out a last second victory.

NCC has had one heck of a year in boy's sports. State champs in football, regional finalist in basketball and now they make the semi's in baseball, congrats.

wow i knew ncc could beat cch but i didnt think they would. Conrats breds and good luck to all of the covcat seniors. You boys played your hearts out and have nothing to be ashamed about.
