Highlands wins in any scenario that you like. They are not an underdog in this game despite what many want to think. You can believe all you want that Highlands has no chance in this game. To reveal anything is not my place, but I can again assure you that you will not see a repeat of what was witnessed this past Friday night.

He's not talking about any scenario where HHS wins. He's saying that folks that are used to watching them in recent history will see different things out of the team and strategy. What he is saying has nothing to do with him predicting a win. He's saying change is happening and time will tell if it works or not. None of this has a bearing on Ryle. Internal change. But if it's what a lot of people have been talking about and it works, then we'll see what happens.

 

We've been saying for a long time that this team has many top level talent...but the lack of depth and platooning has spread the talent all over the field instead of concentrated and on both side of the ball. I have no idea what he's alluding to, but I can tell you he knows exactly what he's talking about and I can't wait to see it on Friday night!! Win or lose!

I see Ryle controlling this game. It will be a good hard fought game, but Ryle is getting better each week.

I wonder if the Birds are exploring new OPTIONS on offence? Ha I have no idea, I don't even live in Ft Thomas anymore. but that would kindof be cool and no one would be ready for it.... it would need to be a package I guess because other teams would figure it out pretty quick on film?... although you have to play against the option to get used to it. I know BW knows how to run one he could for sure set it up. Just speculation from left field.... Hoge would have been way better at it though than the guys they got now. QB personnel doesn't match up for it. Fun to think about the possibilities if there is a big change.

 

There is also the speculation that some players are jumping the line of scrimmage? Id love to see beal at any off position the kid is cray dangerous in space. Cant believe the Offense didn't gobble him up like they did Urlage last year.

 

Everything rests on the Birds D this week though. That is where the heaviest bleeding is. Got to tackle. I hope the Birds can get some pressure on the hot handed Jr Ryle QB. if he gets going it could get ugly again.

Two things, I don't believe Highlands is the favorite but tried to be respectful in my prediction and I was more less, asking in what scenario does Highlands win.

 

For example Ryle a case for Ryle winning; Morgan puts up 225 and 3 TD through the air.

Having seen both teams play, I think Ryle's depth plays a major role. It happened in both the Lex Cath and Cov Cath game. They are deep with talent and can wear you down. If Highlands decides to play guys both ways, it may keep game close but in end it will be tough to play 20 against 36-40. Ryle pulls away for 14 pt win.

Grab your popcorn folks...this will be a very good football game to watch. Chalk full of good players, coaching staffs making adjustments, and will power that just won't quit.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if afterwards of this one folks say it's a shame it had to end. If I didn't have other plans on Friday....I'd be at this one. Have fun and prayers for an injury free game!

This will be a great game. Ryle won't take anyone for Granted. Highlands isn't happy and will be up for this game. They'll be jacked up. So will Ryle. This is gonna come down to execution on the field, both teams. Highlands if they are trying new stuff, and Ryle to execute their game plan offensively and on D trying to stop what Highlands is throwing at them. I don't imagine anyone in that Ryle locker room is thinking this game is a fore gone conclusion. However, they do believe in their talent and abilities and are buying in to Coach Englers way of thinking. This is why they are getting better week from week. Yes, winning by close games vs the Catholics, but good teams win ugly. Close wins are wayyyy better than a loss / moral victory.

Well I'll ask you...how did Lex Cath and Cov Cath stay close? Many are talking like this Ryle team is loaded, but I don't see the results so far telling me that this team is as loaded as some are thinking and that they are this much better than HHS. Maybe I'm wrong and that's not a "homer" prediction. I'm just saying that a loaded 6A team is not beating those two teams by only 1 TD. That's what I'm getting at, how do we really know this Ryle team is really good? I really think now that HHS has a couple weeks under their belt and have played some good teams and made changes, they will surprise some of the doubters. Maybe I'm wrong. Remember, HHS graduates 30-35 kids every year! That takes time to figure things out every year. Sometimes the talent carries them in the first couple games. This year, it will have to be done with adjustments and those are happening every week. Ryle is not SC. Not even close.

 

I may be completely wrong and Ryle blows them out...and if they do, I'll become a Ryle fan for 6A. I just want to see them first before I tag them with being really good. The past games haven't really showed me that. Of course, I haven't seen those games. So I'll wait til tomorrow. If they are as good as people are saying, then I'll be the first one on here tomorrow night to say it!!!

I know we keep saying those two teams are "catholic" schools and that makes a difference. But together, they are 1-5 and LC was a yard away from getting a running clock put on them by Johnson Central (a 4A public school). They are both typically formidable opponents and I have great respect for both, but they seem to be struggling early.

That would be another way Ryle could win, there are multiple paths to a W for both teams.
