If it's not T or Male and Ryle is as good as most are alluding to, then I wouldn't worry just because a team is from Louisville. They should be able to compete and beat the rest if they are a good team.

 

I have seen Ryle several times and they have very little chance against Trinity, Male, Scott County or St. X, not a knock on Ryle just too much talent and team speed on those four teams. I think they will have a very hard time against SK but by the time they play them maybe they have improved enough to beat them but right now SK is just a better team. Ryle is very well coached and a smart quarterback with good running backs but just not enought talent to compete with top 4 or 5 in 6A.

I would agree with that. But I'm not sure what school from Louisville they are alluding to. What I'm saying is there is the super district and then there are Louisville schools. If we are already concerned about meeting a Louisville school (outside of the super district) then we aren't ready to compete state wide. I rarely look at things through a NKy lens. I know they can't compete against any of the teams you mention. But I hope we aren't running fro "the other Louisville" schools.

I agree Ryle can compete with PRP, Ballard etc. , I dont think the NKY schools run from anybody but the top 4 in 6A are just so good they would be very difficult to beat, I do believe SK has a physical enough of a team but not sure if they have the team speed and depth, I have seen Trinity and they are special this year. I'm not sure about Manual this year they have been very good the past few years.

Only problem this season is Ryle will have to play a Lou. school or two in the earlier rounds of the playoffs.

Whether or not that's a problem depends on which 5th place Louisville school Ryle plays. In Trinity's district it would be Jeffersontown or Seneca either of which would be cake for a strong team. St. X's district is more competitive and would be either PRP or Butler (probably Butler). That team might challenge Ryle, but I suspect that Ryle would still win.

Not to repeat myself. A SK win would be great, just like a Highlands win would be great. In my opinion, a winning district record would be better. This team is much improved, much talented, smart, but I'm sure not dumb enough to look past any team on their schedule. They appear to be a very coachable team without any extreme ego's.

Instead of getting on this site complaining that your son isn't playing offense, call a meeting with Coach Weinrich and tell him how you feel! It's easy to get on this site and complain.

 

Nobody is complaining about anything. I am allowed to make observations am I not? Be thankful I am really not telling things as I see them or this site might just blowup. Secondly, I am not the one that brought it up initially now am I? I could really care less at this point in time to be quite honest.

Thank you!! Most would be happy that their son is playing D. If he isn't playing O, then he must not be good enough. Tough words, but true. Coach W is going to put the e best players in the best positions, if someone isn't in the position their daddy wants them in, then there is a reason for it.

Lots of people have to work and the grandparents of some of these players aren't healthy enough to attend. I can promise you, that if you live in Ft. And let me turn this around on you. You mention HHS' record. What if, just if Ryle happens to lose??? Close games with divisions 2 and 3 lower than them and a loss to a "lousy" Highlands team. Now what??

I am sure Highlands will go on to have a good season despite their start, and Cov Cath is cleary better than 0-3 as they have played a beast of a schedule to date. I hope for another good game and enjoy that there is some competition this year to talk about in several ranks. Should be a great year for 6A to decide best in this area and also might be the first year in Ages that someone can even think about competing for 5A.

I am really hoping that these "changes" that are being talked about make a difference tonight. Need the birdies to get on track.

I will say this...you have heard a lot of us tell all of you that HHS has some really good athletes...just not as many as in the past and the depth is down. His son falls on the side of "the really good athlete!". His son would start on any team in NKY just about where ever they needed him too. Barking up the wrong tree on this one acting like its just a disgruntled parent. Many of the "suggestions" coming from the HHS fans include this kid.
