Agreed, but even with all the injuries last year they could still score. This year, not so much. And it's not even the points. Having halves of football with less than 50 yards of offense. Come on, the cupboard isn't that bare.

 

A sophomore QB, starting RB out due to injury, new offense, tough competition ... a lot to contend with in year one for Eviston.

 

Let everyone also keep this in mind. People seem to think Ryle is one of the best in N. Ky. and even a top 10 in 6A and Cov Cath lost by one TD to them. #perspective

 

So which is it ... Ryle overrated or CCH better than people think?

I think things are going to be fine. This team will come together starting next week. They were simply up against it out of the gate. They have talent, are young, and are still learning. This is not time to write them off. There is no doubt coach Eviston will right the ship. They didn't take Ryle to the wire by luck.

Ive seen part of all 3 Covcath games and most of all 3 Highlands games. That game could go either way.

 

Both teams have many areas that aren't performing well. I wouldn't want to specify too closely what areas, so as not to hurt any player's feelings. They all work hard and all want to excel. The winner of the game may be happy with the game outcome, but both programs and all players have high expectations every year. I don't see much hope yet that it's going to be a normal year for either team.

As all have said this result is no shock. Cincy Sycamore is that much better, especially this season.

It may not appease the Park Hills Mafia but the PHM won't have any say in the matter this year or next. Now if we get to year 3 of the Eddie Eviston Experiment (E3) and the losses are still piling up then look for the PHM to make their move.

A lot of positives from this game. Sycamore would smoke anybody in NKY. Loved the way they battled in the 2nd half. That just did not happen the last couple of years.

I was not at the game and have not seen Sycamore play this year but is Sycamore really that good? They are typically a decent D1 school in Cincy but usually do NOT qualify for the playoffs (normally barely one of the top ten teams in Cincy or not in the top ten). The last two years they finished 6-4 and 4th or 5th in their conference. They lost their only other game they played this year to a DII school (a very good one though in Mt. Healthy). Unless this is an unusually good Sycamore team, I think some people on here are overestimating them and the way CCH lost to them should be more alarming to CCH fans than the X game. Just my opinion.

Sycamore was big and physical on both sides of ball.., combined with two top rate backs they would be tough for anyone in northern ky to handle. Cov Cath has simply started with two top rated teams along with st x who are off the charts strong... This is going to turn around no doubt in my mind

JV never got time. But that would be one really, really strong snap.

As much as I am not a CCH fan, I think its a little premature to jump ship, outside of Ryle their schedule thus far has been murderers row. Hopefully they play well and gain some measure of confidence this week and then they get the Dixie Hwy showdown with Beechwood. I for one like their chances as the year progresses.
