Highlands has a tough schedule I thought they would beat Cooper. Now they face Campbell County, Scott County, Ryle, St. X and then SK.

I think HHS can finish either 6-4 or just as easily 4-6. So tomorrow's game is actually pretty big for a winning season I think.

may be their easiest of the first 6 games.

Anything is possible. I think they beat Campbell County and St. X. I'm unsure about the rest of the first 6 games. I think they'll be anywhere between 2-4 and 4-2 after 6 games. I don't think they'll beat Scott County.

 

We'll see though. We'll know more after this weekend.

sometimes it sucks being a fan of a team that always gets no respect.

 

A week ago it was something like 3 times the amount of people predicting Highlands blowing out Cooper. Now that Cooper won, one of the ones who predicted a blowout is now predicting HHS going 0-6.

I didn't go back to the prediction thread, but what I recall is a lot of people saying it would be a close game. Most of the people "in the know" at Highlands had a big question mark about this game and this Highlands team. One poster(guess who) ran his mouth through out the whole thread about H putting a running clock on Cooper. He IS NOT a Highlands fan and certainly does NOT have a very good football IQ. Hellbird, go back to the prediction thread and show us the posts from Highlands fans that disrespected Coopers football team or program. I'll wait. Read the post game thread and you'll see the coaches and players lost with class(as always). Go to the post game thread and post the things that you were disrespected. I can say with confidence, they weren't many and also check out the coaches thoughts on the game including nothing but praise for the Cooper team. So once again pull up those posts and show us how Cooper was disrespected, again, I'll wait.

 

Over the years I've learned that if your screaming about getting no respect for your team, it makes people less likely to respect your team. If you complain week after week it will only get worse as the season progresses. No body slapped any body in the face, that's

bull crap. The poll had maybe 3 to 1 that Highlands would win that game, that's who would win the game with no point spread even mentioned in the poll. You've got questions to be answered. Again, I'll be waiting for your replies.Hopefully we won' hear the no respect issue every week.t

 

If you really want respect, beat some teams that you weren't expected to beat, go deep in the playoffs and bring home a state title.

All HHS teams start off a little rocky... the kids are asked a lot of, 2platoon & small school. But if you made list of all the Highlands teams that didn't improve throughout the season and make a good run at the playoffs it would be a short list. COOPER IS FOR REAL. '14birds almost lost against CC first game of the season and won state in dramatic fashion. What if Campbell Co last year was as good Cooper this year? The '14birds would have lost that game just like the '15birds did last week. This team isnt last years team, they might have a few more blemishes on the schedule. the most likely loss is @Scott Co. L St X(down), @SK and Ryle will be hitting HHS in midseason mode might be playing true Bluebird Football by then. They will pound Campbell tomorrow. Camels are gritty and tough though, they might pound back. I say they lose 2 more games total tops. and surprise some doubters in the playoffs

No way. Zero chance.

Highlands problems in the Cooper game, from what I saw, were technique stuff and coachable on D (like getting hooked or kicked way out on traps, taking on double teams incorrectly at the point of contact...). It will get fixed and they will be much more sound. Offensively, for the first time in forever, they don't have an identity yet. Once they find it, they will be back to Highlands. Right now, they are using the same offensive game plan of the past 7 years. Hergott is not a QB who is going to throw lasers rolling out. He looked a lot better with straight drop backs. JMO. They'll get it right, and I'd say within the next 2 weeks.

Now again I never once said Cooper was disrespected by all HHS fans. Never said anything remotely close to that. I said in general for the past 7 years they have been overlooked and given little respect. Not sure how you can disagree with that especially after seeing how the Power Rankings were posted this week after the game.

Any team earns respect. It's not just given. Cooper earned it from Birds fans last Friday. If Cooper wanted it before this year, it could have come calling over the last several years.
