Not sure what team you were watching but Central Hardin started running the Wing T last year under Mattingly, and dont throw the ball much. Two years ago under Perry they were a spread offense.

 

That was my fault. I mentioned earlier I only saw them once and it was the playoff game against Meade when they fell down big early. They had to throw much more than normal. I was assuming they had stayed with a similar offense they had under Perry. My apologies.

Thoughts, Central Hardin was better than Boyle last season. The longer Mattingly is at Central Hardin the better the defense will be and the worse the offense will be. Is Central going to have any balance with a new qb? Are the Boyle county fans over-estimating the defensive coaching gap between Smith and Mattingly? They come from the same tree and I don't feel its that big.

 

 

Even though the only comparable opponents from last season were Mercer County and Bullitt East(Boyle County beat Mercer County 51-0 and Bullitt East 14-6 while Central Hardin defeated Mercer County 28-13 and Bullitt East 35-28) you are absolutely certain Central Hardin was better than Boyle County?

 

Plus, folks have already said that last year doesn't count.

Doesnt really matter what happened last season since they didnt matchup aginst each other, great contrast in styles of play. Run first offense vs stout defensive front, offense that looked like they were pretty adept at passing last season vs a team that will run it down your throat.

I do have one comment from the end of last season. Watched the Boyle / Lexington Catholic game from last seasons playoff and was shocked at the unprofessionalism displayed on the last play of the game when Lex Catholic kneeled down to end the game and Boyle County lineman jumped over the line and clocked him, which started a fight and resulting 1 personal foul and 2 unsportmanlike conduct penalties and 45 yards marched off as a result. Not a good way to end the year.

After this thread, it is only right that LEX is at this game. I'm going to make time for this one. The back & forth tells me that the level of intensity will be there. You can not duplicate the energy of a quality high school football game.

I think this will be a defensive battle and I have to go with BC by a TD at what will virtually be a home game for them.

Funny that you bring that up. I'm surprised at all the comments about Boyles and Central Hardins past. Has Central Hardin won any championships lately ?

I got Central by 8.

I got Boyle by at least 2-3 touchdowns. I'll be shocked if they lose. Shocked.

Central Hardin was in a spread almost the entire night when I saw them last year. Does Catholic not run out of the spread?

 

CH runs the Wing T like hoss403 said, the Wing T is very different than the spread, and with a QB that had only two pass attempts last year I don't see CH airing it out Saturday evening in Hog Town.

Geez, folks, how many times does a guy have to say he was wrong? I've stated my inaccuracy (due to the early game deficit) at least twice in previous posts. I know the wing-T and spread are different. I shall now go to my corner! Lol

Seeing is believing. I can't remember the last time that a team that primarily runs the ball defeated Boyle County. I'll also add that the guy calling the plays for Boyle County this season should be fairly familiar with CH and their defense. In Josey I trust. He is arguably the most talented QB at Boyle County since Brandon Smith was taking the snaps.

 

But, since you asked about a meat wagon.....

 

Sure, bring it. I'm normally a well done guy but that may take too long so medium well works for me also. If CH pulls out the victory I'll be one of the first to congratulate you guys on a well deserved victory.
