I see that CH's QB Reece Iler was 2 for 2 with 12 yds passing and 1 TD last season I think this will play in Boyle's favor. I also believe Chuck's run defense will give Central Hardin offense fits with them being so one dimensional with a new QB with so little experience. with that said I'll take Boyle 28 to 14.

Understand, Centrals fundamental philosophy in the wing T is run first, and second and maybe throw 3rd. I say again, they will always run first, regardless of opponent. Will they always be successful? We will know about 9:00 Saturday night the degree of success they had at the run game.

In 1966, Boyle County beat Danville 19-7 and Central Hardin wasn't even a thing yet. So I'm going to have to say that this one will be Boyle 27 Central Hardin 24.

They run the Wing T. They may have run some spread in the Meade game because they fell behind early.

Okay let me chime in, I hope Hardin can mix it up a little. The best way is to keep Boyle on their heels by mixing pass and run. Short, intermediate and deep passes to pressure the secondary and force the LB to hesitate on wether to come up to stop the run or drop into coverage. You have to win first and second down against Boyle. If you have 3 & 3 or or 3 & 4 you can do either. If you're looking at 3 & 9 good luck

Okay. That makes more sense considering their current coach came from Meade County, I believe. They did get behind early which certainly would have required them to alter their game plan.

Thoughts, Central Hardin was better than Boyle last season. The longer Mattingly is at Central Hardin the better the defense will be and the worse the offense will be. Is Central going to have any balance with a new qb? Are the Boyle county fans over-estimating the defensive coaching gap between Smith and Mattingly? They come from the same tree and I don't feel its that big.

Not sure what team you were watching but Central Hardin started running the Wing T last year under Mattingly, and dont throw the ball much. Two years ago under Perry they were a spread offense.

Central Hardin hired Tim Mattingly, who was the defensive coordinator at Meade County for 10 years, last year and transformed their offense from a spead formation that Perry ran to a Wing T offense, similar to Meade County. Central will run first, run second, and throw the ball only a handful of times a game using a lot of mis-direction. Minus the quarterfinals last year against Meade County, their defense was very stout and returns 7 of those players on the defensive side.

I beleive that Central Hardin is deeper than last year at most positions, allowing them to substitute without a significant drop off in production. The only exception would be at QB, as junior Reece Iler is inexperienced, only playing a handful of minutes last season, but will improve as the season progresses. Krupinski had a lot of athletic ability and threw a nice ball. It will be hard to match his productivity from last season. The backfield is much improved, with returning FB Xavier Arnette, speedster Darious Barbour and also Gavin Krupinski at RB, who brings a physical edge to the backfield. Offense and defensive lines are both experienced and have good size, with 7 returning players on defense and offense.

Tim Mattingly has brought a tough, disciplined edge to this program.
